Anyone out there have experience with third party front bumpers and the ability to effectively use a Hi-Lift jack on it? Many of the after market bumpers are more suited to scraping over rocks but seem to have zero ability to actually use a Hi-Lift due to the skid type designs. I have narrowed down my search to the Smittybuilt XRC or Quadratec QRC and think either will work as both appear to have a fairly beefy bull bar that I suspect could be "Jacked" against. Anyone out there with experience using a Hi-Lift on one of these two bumper's bull bars to lift against?

I have a fairly unique application as I need a winch but also need to extend a roof rack to carry a 34 foot long double scull (2 person racing row boat) while also towing a camp trailer and not wreck my boat when going over rough ground. Thus I have to carry the boat as far forward as I can. I am looking at adding a custom vertical post to the front bumper. These two bumpers have a fairly beefy light bar attachment at the top of the bull bar that I could add a custom vertical bracket to run my boat's roof rack to.

A high lift Jack is great, but you need some accessories to use it better and safer. A larger base will help, YouTube high lift Jack and see what accessories they have and use. I bought a aev front bumper with high lift Jack storage. I recommend you also learn the safe way to use high lift Jack they can be dangerous if used wrong. Also buy a good 4 way lug wrench the factory wrench sucks. Do not Jack on bull bars, you will quickly destroy your bumper, that why I said get the right accessories for your jack.

I've been using them for over 40 years. I have a base. I have a tire wheel attachment. I have a 4 way lug wrench. I have used a Hi-Lift as a winch on a number of occasions. I have wrecked several bumpers using them. I have dented in my rear quarter panel pushing a vehicle off a Hi-lift (no real choice in that situation). I don't care if I scratch or even slightly bend the bull bar. But if it can't be use that way I have to go full custom as I need to be able to lift off the bumper. Unless there is another bumper out there or a better way to attach the jack to the recovery point that I have not seen.

Edit. Just saw the Hi Lift bumper lift attachment. I had never actually seen that one before. That is certainly a better solution.

I have found that high lift is great for lifted venicles, but also a great disadvantage of used wrong. Your right about the attachments. There are some manufacturers who are now making cut outs for high lift Jack use. I think, hopefully that more manufacturers will follow the example, or I hope so, the storage to or carry the high Jack on the jt will be a challenge, that why I choose the bumper i did, plus the cost is not to great.

The Smittybilt (and other non branded versions) has a hi lift jack point built into the recovery mounts. It's the top hole in the mount. notice it is flat at the top....

Have you looked at the Rock Hard Patriot?https://www.rockhard4x4.com/category_s/494.htm Available in full, mid or stubby. Steel or aluminum. With or without winch plate.
They have high lift cutouts and if you order the towing adapter you could mount your boat rack to those.

Just thinking out loud, but can you not use one of the recovery points with a shackle (soft? ) and use the lift pad of the jack inside of the shackle?

I don't know, have not used one in that manner, but seems like it would work?
