It would be nice if there was a feature, that could be toggled on or off, that unlocked the doors when you put the vehicle in park.
When I have front doors off and we get out of the Jeep, I have to pull my fob out to unlock the back doors for my kid to get out. 1st world problems....

Isn't that in the settings menu?

Also you could reach back past the front seat and just flip the lock

Don’t think I’ve seen it there, but I’ll double check. She is 7, so I guess she could just flip the lock too lol.

There isn't an option to unlock on park. Best option would probably just be to disable auto lock, which is an option and flip the child protection lock on the rear doors.

I get it, I have a 4-year-old in a car seat in the rear. Luckily I also have a 10 year old to help, but I too would be irritated to have to pull out the key fob.

I think the solution for you is to turn off the auto-lock in the Settings menu (I've seen it in our Uconnect-7). But as others have mentioned, then you might want to engage the child safety lock.

Just wait until you put the doors back on and accidentally bend a couple of the pins...causing this to happen when your doors are on!:headbang: My windows work but that's about it. The doors stay locked and the radio stays on after I kill the truck. I haven't checked with the dealer for how much itll cost to repair but I'll definitely have to pay someone to do it because I cant fit down there to fix it myself.

remove the connector from the kick panel, it also makes it easier to align pins after

Man, I deal with this exact same annoyance every summer when the front doors come off. It's such a weird oversight that Jeep didn't include an "unlock on park" option in the Uconnect settings.

Honestly, the best workaround I found was just going into the radio settings and disabling the "Auto-Lock at Speed" entirely. It stops the doors from locking themselves in the first place when you take off. Just make sure to flip the manual child lock switches on the inside of the rear doors if your kid is still small enough to try opening them while you're moving!

You're supposed to take the rear doors off when you take the front doors off. Removing only half the doors is ridiculous.
