Had that ordered and installed the day I picked it up. Might save it in case I get a CB radio lolWhat about your antenna? Do you have OEM?
I purchased a stubby antennae from Amazon. The OEM antennae hits the side of the windshield frame during a car wash or out in the bush, which is no bueno!! The stubby antennae is not as good as the OEM for AM and FM, but I use XM/Sirius for most of my audio listening. What about your antenna? Do you have OEM?
My fuel door does "click" into place and so far no problems in any car wash, including the "brush-less" car washes. The one I have a monthly pass for uses plastic beater brushes and high pressure rinse sprays. Plus what seems to be 120MPH air blowers have yet to open the fuel door. So far, so good, but if it does go open, I'll post for sure! What's wild to me is, you push the fuel door and it makes the little click then opens. However, the door does NOT click or lock closed. With the fuel door closed, you can open it with your fingers without depressing the door to activate the little click and open. Grab the right side of your fuel door with the end of your finger, where it meets the bed, and you can open it freely without a click. It's just a door that covers the gas cap/fill area and could open and flail in the wind. This is a small thing but it bothers me. I'd bet a jet spray or an air blast in the car wash hit your fuel door just right and it opened.
Jeep Engineering Dept! Why doesn't the fuel door actually click shut in place?!?!?
Arghhh! I feel your pain
That must be what the S means in the Sport S.Mine doesn't do that, it clicks open and clicks shut. You probably actived the automatic click-clean-out mode.
What are those? I looked up images; is it the etch-a-sketch tribal kind of pinstriping? Not a fan of introducing swirls into my paint, so no.
Australian pinstripes for me, but no swirls.
I had heard that. My OEM Gladiator antenna picks up soooo much more than my shark fin on my Prius. I guess I’ll get a stubby for off-roading.I purchased a stubby antennae from Amazon. Mine clicks shut too, but you can still open mine without clicking it in again.Mine doesn't do that, it clicks open and clicks shut. You probably actived the automatic click-clean-out mode.
Regardless of the carwash causing that it would be great to be able to lock that fuel door rather than put a lock on the actual gas cap. I can't find a locking gas cap review where the lock doesn't fail. Imagine if the fuel door could lock when the doors lock? That would be some engineering feature right there.Went through the car wash today. I've been through it 3-4x a week for 3 years in my KL never had an issue.
Today i left the wash first time in the JT and my fuel door was wide open. I can only guess the wash opened it somehow.
Is there such thing as a locking cover? Or any ideas how to make sure it stays closed? I mean velcro could work, but then it would be very difficult to open. magnets perhaps?
has anyone else had this happen?
I bought the Mopar locking gas cap that is keyed to the truck FOB in July 2019. It is still working just fine. The retaining strap did break off after a couple years.Regardless of the carwash causing that it would be great to be able to lock that fuel door rather than put a lock on the actual gas cap.
