It’s not sagging as bad as it shows in the picture. My driveway is slopped up where the truck is sitting.

I was wondering about the appearance the sagging.... However, are you sure you're under payload? Three kayaks ~ 180 lbs
one rack ~ 50 lbs
tongue weight ~700 lbs
one driver~ 175 lbs

All total to 1,110 lbs. I looked at a few Mojaves and their payload was under 1,100 lbs, but they all had hardtops. I just noticed you have a soft top. What is the payload for a Mojave with a soft top?

My payload is 1178. Tongue weight is 600.

OK, so the soft top does make a difference. I’ve never been able to get a definitive weight difference between the two.

And yet people who have later ordered the soft top say it's roughly the same as the hard top - which is really light. If there's a difference it's not even 50 pounds, likely less.
I owned a 2020 Overland, traded for a 2022 Overland and the payload sticker dropped 100 pounds! Why? Why 100 pound drop when Gorilla glass is lighter and they are equipped almost the same unless it's the aux switches and bigger main battery. But the GG should offset that.

tongue weight - 600
kayaks - 180
rack - 50
-------------------
830
add driver just say typical American male at 200 pounds and that's 1030
Not counting cooler

I can see the slope of the driveway- mine is an up and down concrete drive and makes things look bad when I park in a certain spot with rear tires in the low draining area and front is on the higher spot.
Two axles make REALLY REALLY sure that trailer sits perfectly level behind that truck.

We are around 1,000 feet, so that's not a lot higher than where I love.
The lowest is around 500'
Our highest point is over 1600' so your trip was like a drive through Iowa......

That is a good question. How do they determine the payload for each vehicle? Do they weigh them as they leave the factory? Do they manually calculate it by what options it has?

As I understand it each model has a Gross Vehicle Weight rating that is determined by some engineering analyses likely supported with some tests for that model. Then the payload is the difference between that GVWR number and what each truck weighs. So they have to weigh each truck because that varies depending on the option set and individual weight variations with the parts used to build each truck.

One 2022 Mojave I looked at only had a payload of 1021 lbs. It was not fully optioned out but it did have a hardtop. It didn’t even have the tow package that yours does. That’s why I’m a little surprised your payload rating is what it is. I have to admit that I only have a small sample size: 4 Rubicons and one Mojave

Yup. Mine runs 31psi when under 2800 rpm. When over, it runs 79psi. No in between at all. It's either low or high pressure mode. Very weird on these Penta's.

All other vehicles I've had were "normal". The pressure went up linearly with the rpm.

yea that oil pressure thing freaked me out after my first oil change, I thought I screwed something up big time, jumped on here and did some searching and found out its normal

These are two stage pumps with an electrically controlled (via PCM) solenoid that kicks the vanes into high volume mode above about 2800-3,000 RPM.
They do that because the oil pump must not only put out the volume for the engine parts but for the VVL followers and cam phasers, etc.

There's no need for the higher pressures that other cars ran over the years. Pressure doesn't protect. Pumps put out volume, the pressure is a result of the volume against resistance.
Other pumps of the past didn't have near the volume these things have - they were probably only about 1/4 the capacity of these and were driven by the cam and had a single pressure relief valve that opened at around 70 psi, give or take, depending on the engine.
The pressure was lower at lower RPM because the pump simply couldn't put out enough volume to build higher pressure. (and it wasn't needed since all it did was supply oil to lifters, bearings, rockers........)
These are chain driven off the crank. Vane type, not gear type, 2 stage.
