22 Rubi 2 door, 23 Gladiator.......
2023 Rubicon Gladiator with 38"+ tires, most likely 13.5 wide about a 5" Teraflex long arm lift, gears, most likely 5.13 or so.
Almost no towing. Mild+ off roading till new 60 and 80 is purchased...........
So.... Gas vs Diesel..... What say you, and Thanks for your input.
P.S. Good amount of previous SuperDuty Diesel experience (2010 F350, 2015 F350, 2020 F350) for what it's worth.
P.S.S. YES... I have read a lot of Eco Diesel vs Gas and so on threads on here. I'm at 50% knowledge so far.
Thanks again.

Because torque….

If you plan to go up and play in Death Valley and Mojave- you are going to love the fuel economy/ range that you can get. Saline Valley- in a 3.6 you are going to have to carry extra gas just to get through. Diesel- you should still carry some extra fuel but you won’t need it.

Crawling- torque

Downfall- if you are plating it in California you cannot get rid of the DEF tank- which leaves you to relocate it- if you choose to 4 link the rear the factory location will not work.

??‍♂ Love the diesel. Though we are bias, diesel JT, Diesel Liberty, 2 TDI’s, and a 6.0 ford.

Yes, I understand torque and diesels especially while towing. I did tow a 40 foot toybox Trailer to Glamis for many many years. If anybody asks me about gas versus diesel while towing a fifth wheel trailer I could easily explain. I’m just trying to simply learn if I’m overlooking anything besides the basic torque.

You’ve got to make that call for yourself. Based on previous modern light duty diesel experience and researching Eco Diesel issues, I never really gave it much consideration for long.

FCA reliability being what it is, that’s just one variable that I’d rather not toss into the mix.

Since you’re used to more torque owning diesels, I’d just say opt for the ecodiesel

And I thought all that CP4 ? stuff was strictly a pick up truck issue with the Chevy, Ford and Dodge…….. :-(

I approached my research with an admittedly biased start point/view on it.

You do you. Plenty of folks seem to be happy with the diesel.

I guess that is what I am after..... What part of having a diesel is better for each person. They're positive points.

I currently own a 392, a diesel, a 4 banger turbo, and owned a 6cly gasser and if they made the 2 dr in a diesel I would buy one and I would buy a 4 turbo over the 6 any day of the week. If a 4 dr JL hands down diesel, best power plant in Jeep history.

Now lets stop comparing chicken salad to chicken shit already.
