Absolutely, I'm speaking purely from a guy commuting and driving privately.

A good number of EcoDiesel owners were those who did a lot of driving. They wanted both the range and fuel economy. So yes, it was pretty common for EcoDiesel owners to log 30,000 - 40,000 per year just commuting back and forth to work.

I know a pair of guys that tag-teamed hot-shotting and hit over 300k in something like 20 months on a from-new truck. Was a Cummins, though.

The highest mileage EcoDiesel engine that I've recorded currently has 612,000 miles, but the owner/operator retired it commercially at 600,000 miles. He and his wife now drive it for private use only.

The highest mileage EcoDiesel truck that I've recorded had 930,000 miles the last time I checked, but it had gone through a few engines.

Those who have deleted, any resources for deleting - what needs to be removed etc.? Did you keep your parts in tact through removal? Anything you need to do to make sure you can reinstall just in case, later?

I may just start with a def and egr delete and leave the hardware installed but it seems like it would benefit it to remove the dpf and block the egr to eliminate any recycled air and let it breathe and cool the egt's down.

What was your speed going up the hill with 1100 egt? towing or empty?

The max speed was in the 50’s. Not towing. I was doing this run specifically to test the engine brake feature.
I usually go down this section without using the brakes. Manual mode downshifting only.

The test today is not a good example for EGT. I just went down 2500’ in elevation, flipped a U and came back up. My starting temps, going up were in the 180’s (oil/coolant).

It's fairly popular to disable the EGR function but leave the DEF and DPF functioning. GDE Afterlife Tuning doesn't use much DEF and the DPF regen frequency is reduced. The engine burns much cleaner without EGR, but since all of the components are still intact, the owner can easily switch back to stock tuning when needed.

The nice thing about the GDE tune is that you can always ask for updates to modify the tune, make adjustments, etc.

Agree with your note and id probably start with the egr and DEF turned off. Was just wondering how much benifit there is to doing a full delete.

Today is off to a great start!
During the morning drive to the gym. The wife starts talking about how impressed she is with the new feel of the Jeep. All from the passenger seat.
First positive, from her since the first derate in ‘22.

Her daily driver is a ‘20 JLUR. She has pulled an off road trailer over the Rubicon and Dusy trails. Not your normal girl.

Was just wondering how much benifit there is to doing a full delete.

In my opinion, the only benefit for a full delete is eliminating more components that can fail. Otherwise, disabling EGR takes care of the biggest issues. I've seen Gen 2 engines go 300,000+ miles with the GDE Hot Tune, which only disables the EGR.

I like a nice and quiet engine, so I have no desire to remove the DPF/SCR system.

The GDE tune is the best in the industry for fuel economy. That's one benefit of a super-efficient tune. It's crazy to see how clean the dipstick looks after 3,000 miles of driving.

GDE advertises 3 to 8 mpg over factory. With EOC I was getting about 2 mpg better over factory at highway speeds.
To early to say if better or worse with GDE. Early indications are positive.

I’m one of the heaviest gladiators out there. 7k turning 42’s (hmm probably my real problem).
This summer I’ve been averaging 22mpg highway. 18mpg city.
Pulling the 4k trailer. 15mpg overall. Highway is higher. Don’t know an exact number.

Clarification, the emissions compliant tune does NOT turn off the egr but it does reduce (significantly from my understanding) the exhaust gas recirculation especially on the high side.
The afterlife 100% turns it off.
