Edit. Made a few changes. Coilovers with front triple bypass. Long Arm front control arms. Changed dual rate front sway bar back to factory. Dual rate was not needed with new suspension.

Edit. Added “Pretty Princess” to the build. Wife, “what does the Pretty Princes need now”?

Edit. Got some 42” Nitto’s and 20x10 Raceline wheels.

WB from factory 137” new WB 138.75”
Mod outside tire tread to tire tread 84”. Did not measure factory. Guessing 70/72”.

Started planning this build with my ‘21 JLURD about a year ago. We pull an off-road trailer. Due to the weight of the trailer, we decided that a Gladiator would be a better Build choice.

Just did a 200 mile test run. Very Happy with the set up. Only small tweaks to do. Edit LOL

Very cool. How do you like the X-MT’s? They look gnarly.

X-MT do look good, have an aggressive appearance. They ride good, sound not an issue. Only have 200 miles on them…
Did not balance the wheel tire combo. The X-MT is definitely a well manufactured tire to be able to cruise at 70mph non balanced.

I absolutely love them, but not sure it’s a good daily driver choice. But with as much wheelin I do maybe it would be alright. Haven’t heard enough input from owners.

Are those the Bushwacker HyperForm front fenders - did you get gladiator specific ones or install the Wrangler ones? If Wrangler, any issues with figment?

I have Yokohama Geolander M/T G003s on my TJ and I have been incredibly impressed with them Rock Crawling on both dry and wet rocks. What is crazy, is how little weight they took to balance and how great they drive on the street.

Sounds like you are having a similar experience with those.
Yokohama makes some nice tires

Looks great.. I think there is really something to be said for the paint matching top/fenders. I built mine that way, but seems to be the minority... really looks good on yours.

Over stock height for a stock JTRD. I have about 3.5” in suspension lift. The tire adds another 3.5”. The Fusion axles have larger tubes than stock, which also adds about a 1/2” of lift.
Total lift height is about 7.5”.
I’m not a fan of the factory front fender flares. The V at the flare to body mount traps everything. The Hyperform fenders close the V and provide a little more up clearance with additional tire coverage, although minimal.
About 2050 RPM in 8th at 70mph. Still tweaking the speedo with GPS. I will update this once confirmed.
I can say first impression with 5.13 gearing and 40’s is positive. Feels very much like stock, pulls very long steep climbs easily with limited downshifting, if at all. Still jumps from 2nd to 3rd too soon, same as factory.

thank u so much!
I think a 75-80mph cruise might be a little too high on the RPMto make me comfortable.
how is 4low stopping?

I just finished a 560 mile drive from Laughlin NV to the Bay Area CA. Average speed 70mph. 17MPG average for the trip.

1850 RPM @65MPH in 8th about 22mpg.
2050 RPM @70MPH in 8th about 18mpg.
2250 RPM @75MPH in 8th about 15mpg.
Add 500 RPM same speed in 7th.
The “about” mpg is on flat road.

65MPH is what I based my gear choice on. My long trips will be towing a 4K off-road trailer. Possibly go to 42” Nitto’s next tire purchase.
