Just curios how and what everyone runs (everyday carry/loadout) with in their gladiator everyday. Currently I carry probably more tools than I need along with other items and have it all under and behind the rear seat. I just installed a tonneau cover so I could have some of it secured in the bed as well. Curious to hear what all you run every day with and how you have it organized. Always looking for ideas on things to carry, not needed, how to organize, etc.?

I know folks will differ with different locations, occupations, etc. For example, I am in NE Texas and am a Project Manager/Estimator for commercial construction.

My list:
  • Basic first aid kit
  • Flash light
  • Lighter
  • Jumper Cables
  • Toilet Paper...you just never know LOL...multiple uses.
  • Duck tape
  • Electrical tape
  • Multiple screw drivers in tool roll
  • Multiple pliers and vise grips (regular, wire cutter, needle nose, etc.) in tool roll
  • Ratcheting combo wrenches (Metric/SAE) with adjustable wrenches in tool roll
  • Hammer
  • Small sledge (4lb hammer)
  • Pry bar
  • Socket set (Metric/SAE)
  • Electrical pliers (crimp, strip, etc.)
  • Tape measure (30ft & 100ft) - applies more for my occupation
  • Small folding shovel and machete
  • Can of WD40
  • Security bit set
  • Zip ties
  • Gloves
  • Utility knife
  • One (1) large trash bag (multiple uses...ground cover, rain cover, etc.)
  • A couple of small plastic grocery bags (come in handy on road trips)
  • Tire gauge
  • Always have by "EDC" on me as well. ;)
Thinking of adding or need to add:
  • Battery jump starter - Thoughts/recommendations?
  • Tire repair kit (need to add) - Recommendations?
  • Seat belt cutter / window breaker - ??
  • Fuse kit - Thoughts/recommendations?
Feedback
  • What do you carry?
  • Anything to add or deduct from this list above and why?
  • How do you have it organized...under seat, behind seat, tool box in bed,....?
  • Thought about trying to place tools in the bed and have other EDC (not vehicle related) under/behind the seat. Such as items that would come in handy if stranded somewhere. Items you might see in a "get home bag".

Only thing I'd add is a cheap OBD2 code reader. I keep one in my glovebox. Was out with some friends this December and got a CEL. Pulled off to the side, plugged in, and saw it was some EVAP code I could ignore. Funny enough, code never came back after that. I can't stand having a light on my dash and try to keep on top of things so as soon as a warning or light comes on I get on it ASAP. But being able to see the error lets me determine whether it can wait for me to get home or if I should get on it now.

On occasion, I use a multimeter I keep with me to test batteries or confirm some continuity. Nothing advanced. A BT OBD2 device and a mediocre multimeter can be had for pretty cheap, so they live in my car.

I carry way fewer tools than you because I've only started investing in tooling up this year. I'd prefer not to keep my investments in my car until I can also acquire a cheaper/decent set to keep in the truck while my go-to stays safely at home. For now, I have a machete/folding shovel stowed behind one of the seats, multimeter and ethernet crimper behind the other seat, breaker bar and torque wrench beneath passenger seat, a small wrench set and screwdriver for when I take my bicycles out, and a couple of bottle jack / jack stand combo things in the bed under a cover. Only socket I keep on me is a 7/8 for the wheels

Wow, you guys are much more worried than I am.
I don't have most of that.
What I see missing,
extra clothes, coat, hat etc.
fire extinguisher
any kind of medication ie. aspirin, Benedryl for reactions. - may be in first aid kit.
emergency contact papers

I see ball hitch, but what about a hitch for pulling? Trailer balls become projectiles.

I carry a Start-All 2500 instead of cables, you can't jump your own truck. I use it around the farm regularly to check its function. I like it so much, I bought another for the shop.
(I think it was Zoro who had the best price)

I store things in messenger bags or backpacks. Good for organizing, or carrying gear if you have to.

Yeah it is packed in there but it all fits in. You like the M18 compressor? I could see it being handy with using the same battery as an impact.
Things a beast. Did 3 rigs on 37s back to back and still had charge. 12 min a truck.

Sounds like a win for me then. I can’t see using it on board air enough and this would allow it to be used for other things too. I thought about putting an outlet under the seat for the charger.
