Me too!!!It’s no secret. I love recoveries.
I truly enjoy finding the angles to figure out the best and safest way to get out whatever situation.Me too!!!
Seems that letting some pressure out of the tires would have made that drivable, but I wasn't there.Post pictures of your Gladiator recovering lesser vehicles here.
This was today exploring the "Empty Quarter"
of the San Luis Pass on Galveston Island
named for the eponymous region of the Sahara Desert.
Here I am cruising the deceptive sands with confidence.

The flat, level appearance seduces the unwary tourist
like the one below.

The green VooDoo kinetic rope has recovered many a vehicle here.
Note the wooden dowel for the connection to the Fancy Ford.
The little girl was great. Right after I snapped the picture,
she looked up and extended her arms out palms up in a perfect shrug.
My only charge for a recovery is that I have to take a picture.
Agreed. I get stuck plenty. But I’m usually not taking pictures. Here’s one from an optional metal masher obstacle. I almost had it?If a Gladiator never needs recovery
it is simply not trying hard enough.
Self reporting is welcome here.
Thank you for that, GWolgamott.
The generous 137 inch Gladiator wheelbase
is problematic with regard to breakover angle
and becoming high centered.
Flying magazine has a regular feature
called "I Learned About Flying From That".
The more we can learn about getting stuck
and recovery, the better off we all are.
If anyone wants to help me learn how to upload videos from April 2023, I can provide more fun here. The nearest tree was so far away, and I didn’t have an extension, that a 30’ strap became a tree saver. It was barely long enough.Agreed. I get stuck plenty. But I’m usually not taking pictures. Here’s one from an optional metal masher obstacle. I almost had it?I just wasted 20mins of my life creating a YouTube channel and haven’t figured out how to upload an older video from an iPhone. There doesn’t seem to be a search function. I’ve got good videos of this self recovery. The Jeep was 2+ inches shorter then, so I want another shot at this someday.

The first step, is admitting you have a problem. If anyone wants to help me learn how to upload videos from April 2023, I can provide more fun here. The nearest tree was so far away, and I didn’t have an extension, that a 30’ strap became a tree saver. It was barely long enough.
I admit nothing. No regrets. The first step, is admitting you have a problem.![]()
