Everything on the Internet is fact. I can confirmation bias my own searches too, and find hundreds of articles stating the Ridgeline is no truck. ;)
So the old F100s are cars too? Pretty sure Ford's F-series has always meant truck...

A Ridgeline is a car tho.....

Unibody
Truck

Pick 1
It has a bed, so it is a truck. I consider an El Camino a truck. A Baja too. You may continue with your small minded thinking if you would like.

I'm not threatened by the Ridgeline, so I have no issue talking about it. It is a truck, and while it's not one that I like, there are merits to IFS and unibody construction that it has. You will notice it when you drive it. Jeeps by their very nature feel looser and sloppier. That's the trade-off we signed up for. In those areas of road manners, a truck like the Ridgeline does excel.

Do I think it eats into Gladiator sales? No. It's a class below in my opinion, and priced as such. Most will look to upgrade from it when they come across more robust towing needs, or ever want to get off the pavement, and a Gladiator can actually be that next step up for them. Someone considering the Ridgeline probably isn't shopping Gladiators in the first place, so the competition it brings is minimal. It's more like a gateway truck. Similar story for the Maverick.

If the Ridgeline's existence threatens you to the point where you want to deny it is even a truck, I guess there's not much we can do for you there. I suppose it was small minded of me to try and teardown whatever false wall someone built up in their mind to protect themselves from the threat of a truck they don't even own.

Hmm, me thinks it's a truck.

Maybe one you don't like, but still a truck.

Just like the Maverick is still a truck.

OLD argument that's been hashed to death in a couple of other threads over the years.

Look at the definition of truck over the years. Frame does not a truck make,
Wasn't the Comanche a truck? and yet - it was a hybrid system, unibody up front like Cherokee, frame in the rear.

From what I've seen over the years, SUVs have frames.
If people are thinking of things like Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and so on, those are station wagons. (look up the definition and origin of that term!)
In fact, as I recall, Jeep didn't advertise the 1980s Cherokee or Grand Cherokee as SUVs - the term was never used in their marketing or advertising.

Oh, and take a look at this 1982 Federal emissions sticker (LIGHT DUTY TRUCK):

Guess was the Eagle was considered............. a truck. It was exempted from 5mph bumpers and other fun stuff. Unibody

A truck is something with wheels made to haul cargo. So it meets the dictionary and historical definition of truck.

This is why the Subaru Outback is technically an SUV (and why everyone mostly makes SUVs), even though it has been a wagon since the late 70's. They get to skirt regs by classifying it as an SUV.

However you want to "classify" the Honda Ridgeline, it is a capable vehicle that does what it is intended to do. Drive smooth, haul items in the bed, have a decent towing capacity and do all of it in a reliable fashion. At this point, the hardcore Jeep owners shouldn't be worried about Ridgeline sales creeping into their market.

When the next gen Ridgeline comes out of the pipeline, it will be a different story.

I never understood the vain attempts to take pot shots at other vehicles by intentionally calling them something else. Just makes you look uneducated more than anything.
I never understood the vain attempts to take pot shots at other forum members by intentionally taking something serious which is ambiguously made in jest, or otherwise not that serious. Just makes you look desperate to validate yourself at the expense of another more than anything.
Jeep Gladiator Gladiator Sales Slump hahahaha-lol

I suppose it was small minded of me
And desperately reaching, too.

Ridgeline was near the top of my list for a while. But, my father-in-law has a current-gen one, and the few times I've driven it I cannot get comfortable in the driver's seat. It doesn't back up enough.

Oh and the infotainment is unacceptably bad.

I found the seats to be super comfy, but I am also 5'-4" so leg room was not an issue for me. The infotainment does suck, but I am not a big stereo guy anymore so not a big deal.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, seat itself is super comfy. Just couldn't back up enough.
