There is no other reason FCA is offering a $2000 cash allowance and other incentives so soon on the Gladiator , other than sale's were lower than expected. The Gladiator is an expensive toy for a select market. The next few months will tell it the $2000 cash allowance is large enough to boost sales.
Wow, just wow, the JT hasn’t even been on the market for a year and FCA is already rebating it $2000, sounds like they may be a little worried!

I almost traded my Sport Max Tow for a Rubicon. I could get $38k for mine (losing $5k after 4 months and 7k miles) and get a Rubicon with a trailer tow package and cold weather group for $45k (only $2k more than I negotiated my sport for) but ultimately losing the 400lbs of payload made me decide I didnt need electronic swaybar disconnects and I can add rear lockers later. I got this to be a truck as much as I did for offroading. The loss in posted payload is very important to me

I'm a first time Jeep owner. I was not looking at Jeeps till I saw the Gladiator. So it didn't pull sales from the Wrangler.
Ditto here

First time Jeep owner here too. Though I've been looking at the TJ and JK (Wrangler family in general) since the late 90's. Held back on the trunk space of the 2-door at first, then the tow capacity later on. The JT solved both limitations for my usage and I couldn't have asked for more. It "sort of" pulled sales from the Wrangler in my case, but it was an unlikely sale anyways.

That said, I was looking for full-size pickups at the same time with the deep rebates (up to 40% off on some dealer stocks). The extra bed size and tow capacity is certainly nice, but I could work with the JT too. Now I have my first Jeep, first pick-up, and first convertible. Gets me around town and squeezes into most parking spots without issues. So in MY case, it actually pulled sales from the full-size pickups.

I also think people should look at what the JT really is. To me, it 's a mid-size pickup with great off-road capability. IMHO, comparing it to full-size pickups and deeming it "not competitive" or "doesn't worth the cost" is a bit off. It's like questioning why someone would spend money on a luxury sedan, while they could have gotten a 7/8-seater minivan with more cargo space and tow capacity, for less. Not the most accurate analogy but I'm sure it gives a vague idea regarding the differences in intended usage.

Now the Just Empty Every Pocket part is a whole different story. Cheers!

Sound like me. I had a convertible to drive around and a pickup to haul my boat but it was not a daily drive because I hate parking and getting around in a full size pickup. The Wrangler could just haul my current sailboat but not the one I want to get. But when I saw I could have my convertible and haul my boat and only need one vehicle, score.

Same here, not interested in a regular Jeep, only a truck Jeep.

Pretty much describes my arc, JKU Sahara to Tacoma TRD Off Road. Then spent 5 months trying to tell myself it was dumb to to sell my 2 year old truck and buy a Gladiator. 3 months later I’m glad I made that dumb decision back in November.
i came from owning and being toyota loyal for many years now i have owned 3 taco's from a 2012 trd sport,2016 trd sport and 2017 trd sport and they are nice trucks but once i went to the 3rd gen i really didn't like the engine and tranny combo because it is a dog and lacks many things,i am still a member on the tacomaworld forum and i see people posting problems with their taco's and i will say that they are not as bulletproof as they used to be that is why i tried a gladiator and so far i am very happy.it is pretty cool to remove doors and the top and still have a truck to haul and tow with.

I've owned several YJs and TJs when younger, but have been in full size trucks for two decades. I went from a Chevy 2500HD Crew 4X4 to my Gladiator. I need 4WD when I'm in NC (live there part time) and couldn't live without it, but I think if Jeep produced a 2WD version of the Gladiator in a base configuration, they would drive a wedge right into the competition's market. My gut tells me they would sell the snot out of a stripped down 2WD version of the Gladiator. I wonder if Jeep has done any research. I can see utility, service, delivery, and many small businesses buying a stripped down 2WD Gladiator. I could be wrong, but seems reasonable. I know some will point to the bomb that was the JK 2WD, but nobody wanted that to begin with.. a 2WD truck... tens of millions of them on the roads and highly desirable by many.

I think Jeep is more interested in higher margin, lower volume with the JT.
