Looks bad ass? I am guessing you went with the -18 offset?

Thanks! Thats essentially exactly what I am going with and has the look I was hoping for! I appreciate it! Hows your ride hauling the 37"s around?

Customoffsets.com has a nice tool that auto-calculates the difference between current and new. It gives inner clearance and outer position difference.

So, before this thread goes to hell in a wicker basket, I'll say this:

Rubicon and Max Tow have wide axles. I ran +10 offset wheels that were 8.5" wide for a while and there was enough tire sticking out that gravel was beating the piss out of my paint. I have no idea why a guy would want ANY negative offset whatsoever. Not only does it make the truck look like a skateboard, it's also not functional. It makes the axles as wide as a dually pickup, it blasts the paint with mud, sand, gravel, etc., and it puts other drivers at risk (which is why it's illegal in many states). Don't be that guy. Run a positive offset wheel.
I appreciate the response and respect where you are coming from. That being said - I don't want to own a Jeep that doesn't have tires sticking out of the fender wells. Thats part of what being a Jeep owner is to me.
Yea the only option with the R17 is -18
Looks great! I ordered mine tonight at Discount Tire. 37x12.5R18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers and 18" Black Rhino Overland wheels in matte black with -18 offset.

Now here is to hoping my Gladiator takes 6 weeks or less to get to me from the factory.

I agree with this, but having a hard time finding positive offset wheels. Also wondering why most lift companies recommend such a low backspacing number in order to clear control arms when most have kinked arms to provide more clearance.

Wondering who has put what under a stock Sport S max tow. Looking at black rhino 18x9 4.5 backspace -12 offset with 275/70/18. Custom offsets claims a gain of 1.42 inches inside the wheel, but don't want any rub. Anyone with a similar set up tell me if it'll fit?

When I scroll through places like Discount Tire Direct, most everything I see is from 0 to +25 offset. Tire Rack even has a lot of positive offset wheels.

These I just installed on my Max Tow are +6 offset and there's a lot of tread sticking out beyond the fenders, particularly in the front. So much, actually, that I have a set of Rokblokz on order for the front. Gravel is already going "BANG!" when I leave my gravel lane each morning.

WXman,

What wheel and size tire setup are you running? Mind sharing the wheels? Poke isn't too bad, but yeah... Would have to order rock guards myself.

Hey mate thanks for your post are your fenders the same width as a rubicon as I noticed on your model they’re slightly lower but can’t tell if they’re the same width? I’m looking at a wheel that only comes in +1 or -12 so looking at the +1 but as you’ve said I don’t want much poke to save the paint

I haven't put a tape measure on them both, but visually my Max Tow fenders seem a bit wider than the Rubicon fenders.

Maybe somebody else on the forum can throw a tape measure on them both so we know for sure.

The wheels I'm looking at are the Black Rhino Warlord in 18x9 with a -12mm. Plan is to put the 35x12.5 Toyo Open Country A/T IIIs on them.
I don't know how much wider those will stick out and I'm trying to figure it out. I don't want a bunch outside the fender. I'm ok with a little but I prefer them almost fully in.
