The dealer has the Jeep now, so we will see what comes of it. As much as I do hope it is just the key fob batteries, based on the issues I'm having it is highly unlikely IMO. I never checked the door connectors. I Didn't think about it before dropping it off, and did not have much time around my Jeep before I had to go drop it off. It would be quite interesting if that ends up being issue, just because I haven't had then disconnected for months now, and everything works, other than the buttons on my key fob. The Jeep recognizes when the doors are open and shut, and the windows operate properly.

They told me if they can re-pair the keys it'll be a quick fix. Like most dealers, I got limited updates, and it wasn't finished by the end of the day, so I have a feeling it's something more. I'll keep this post updated. Unless I'm just dumb (could be the case), I didn't see any other posts in the forum about the key fobs unpairing, but the Jeep still recognizes when the fob is inside.

Check that the door connectors are all firmly connected, if one slipped apart enough to lose contact
I should have checked this before I brought it to the dealer, but I didn't. It would be nice if It's just a loose connection.

It might be a good idea to mention it to them, the tech may not think to check the connectors if they don’t know the doors have been off.

Interesting, I didn't realize it would need new batteries that often.
You should not need batteries annually unless you are using your FOB like 20+ times a day. 3-5 years would be normal for most people before a battery needs to be changed.

So they were able to fix the problem by re-pairing the key fobs. Good to know if anyone else experiences a key fob disconnection of some kind, but the Jeep still detects the fob inside to be able to drive.

I guess I'm not really surprised it was that easy, but with some history I've had with a lemon in the past, and terrible dealership service (Non Jeep dealers), I had a gut feeling this was going to be more than something simple. Luckily I was far from correct.

I think your RF hub or the connections going to it are suspect..

IIRC, it is on drivers side rear window back wall and have to remove some interior cover trim to access it.

Wonder if somebody tried to clone your fobs?

Glad it was an easy fix. I'm sure that was a big sigh of relief.
