Let me start by saying this forum and jeep culture in general is awesome. We have enjoyed every minute of building our JTR and learning from others.

If you haven’t noticed the used car market has lost its mind. I stopped by the local Hendrick store and started a conversation that ended up with me trading keys. Yes, we traded the gladiator.

The dealer gave us over $56k for the Silvertruck, which is within 10% of what we paid (with first lift tires and wheels). Obviously we ate the rest of the mods, thats what happens. But, the trade gave us substantial equity that we rolled plus a little cash into a new truck.

But not just any truck. I am talking about a 2021 Ram 1500 TRX. 702hp, 650 ft lbs hellcat powered supertruck. 14 inches of travel, 8 drive modes, soundtrack like no other truck on the planet. All with state of the art interior and infotainment.

Its apples to oranges, but keeps me in the mopar family and a chance to own a hellcat that meets family needs as well.

This has been a great forum, and thank you all for reading my stuff and commenting on my build. Let me know what you think or if i can answer questions. Silvertruck wont be our last jeep. See you on the trail!

To quote Ferris Bueller:

"It is so 'choice.' If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up".

Those trucks are truly incredible.

I had a 2020 "Gator" Gladiator Overland with everything on it. Brain hiccuped. Traded it for a 2021 GMC Canyon and got cash. 6 months later I drove out to look at Gladiators. "That's a pretty red 80th Anniversary" Should've kept on driving............. They gave me more than I paid for it + rebate + discount = I now own that 2021 red 80th Gladiator...........and I like it better then the 2020. People DO NOT go look at any vehicle right now if you even think you might be thinking about trading. Because odds are, you will.

I almost did the same thing at Hendricks last Friday but then they hit me with the $108,000 price tag and I thought dang, I could put a hellcat in the gladiator and really build it for a price tag like that. They are definitely nice trucks and your looks great, I can't justify the price tag though.

Congrats man! Price tag on those things is outrageous. Every dealer here in FL is asking thousands over MSRP. This car market right now is bonkers. Hope you got a killer deal on yours! I traded my 20' Gobi Gladiator for a 1500 Rebel in February. Loved the truck, but I was kicking myself in the behind the second I left the lot. Fast forward 3 months and I'm back in a Gladiator, Sarge Green this time around! :)

That is a badass truck. 700hp?? I had a 2014 RAM 1500 I loved, it was fast with the 5.7 hemi. May have been faster than my 2017 Mustang 5.0. But damn, 700hp? I might kill myself in that! ?

Sanity check - while its true that many of these go well into the six figure range with big dealer markups, I was well under that, somewhere in the low $80’s before trade.

The motor gets all the press but its the interior that will make you want to keep it. My wife is so happy with the comfort upgrade.

I wouldn't blame you anyways, but with those numbers, it would be a no brainer for us.
