It's like that failing restaurant that decides to raise prices to make up for lost customers. Even the most dimwitted person understands where that strategy is going to take them.....Pricing themselves out of the market......doesn't take a degree in business to figure it out.
What was once affordable to the middle class is no longer.

I particularly liked this quote:It’s all about pricing. Stellantis has priced Jeep right into the ground.
The bestI particularly liked this quote:
“The heart of Jeep, the Wrangler, got way more expensive just as it got its first real competition in a long time,” said Sam Abuelsamid, a transportation and mobility analyst with Guidehouse Insights, a global consulting firm that focuses on the automobile industry. "
Nothing like self injury right before a fight. Great strategy.
No kidding. Its almost like they looked at the DaimlerChrysler mashup and said "Hold my beer."Stellantis has been a horrible ownership group for the brand
TruthThey jacked up prices way beyond the rate of inflation and what their customers could afford, then the CEO and top brass bloviated on and on to the financial media and Wall St. about "protecting margins." How'd that work out, suckas?
When you look at the msrp on all of these new rigs, they are completely divorced from the economic realities of their customer base. Even though I got over 26% off my Rubicon, it was STILL extremely expensive IMO. The only reason I bought it was because of the massive discount.
It's not just Jeeps, either. Ram pickups are experiencing major lot rot. They need to hack $40,000 off of some of those models to get back to sanity. This brand screwed themselves six ways to Sunday and now they're in a ringer.
But is it a truck? Was at the Ford dealer looking at trucks. They had a two door Bronco on the showroom floor. It’s a great looking vehicle and extremely comfortable. Jeep should be worried. So much better for the money.
