Just got back from a long trip in our 2021 Sport S. Left Idaho and drove to Mobile, Al. towing our sons pop-up tent camper then on to Nashville, Tn. Left there and back to Idaho. Put on over 5,000 miles and the over all mpg was 23.3. I can live with that!! :like::clap:;):beer:

Wish I had an answer. But from the get go we have gotten great mileage. If we get anything below 17 it's a WTF moment.
Oh I have no doubt it has to do with the amount of city driving and the lift and tires. No complaints with you getting rhat MPG, that's awesome sauce.

I drove a little over an hour yesterday, to and from, on mostly a straight rural road averaging 60mph and by the time I got back I was at 20.3 mpg. I typically get 17.5 through the week on my short commute to work. That's with the 3.6 auto, 3.73 gears and 35's. That's pretty good in my book.

Kiss that mpg goodbye after your lift lol

we are walking a fine line with mpg on our Jeeps. The Jeep engineers actually did a remarkable job with wind resistance. Especially, considering what they were working with. If you need convincing, measure your mpg with the top off or roof panels out if you have a hard top. The 21-22 mpg I referenced at 80 drops to 15-16 mpg. HUGE difference.
I found this summer, with top down and doors off I was losing 1-1.5 mpg. With doors off and soft top on, I was only losing .4-5 mpg.

Best I've ever seen on a long trip was 19.2. Rubicon with stock tires.

Stone stock Overland. Took delivery 19 July, 2019.

That very weekend, drove to Boston, MA and back (from S.E. PA) and averaged 23.5 MPG (calculated fill to fill)...brand spankin' new!!!

Ever since, for the first two years, I would average around 19 just bopping around and 23-24 on the highway. Now, I am averaging around 20.5 (+/- 0.2) mpg just bopping around. I have ~20,700 miles on her. Of course, that drops by about 1 mpg with winter blend fuel.

Just this past Memorial day, I went from S.E. PA to northern Michigan and back (745 miles one way) and averaged right around 27 MPG. I drove a very conservative 70 mph nearly all the way out and back. The stretch in Michigan where speed limits were 75, I got just over 22 mpg from that fill. The best I saw (calculated) was 28.1 mpg and that was in the very hilly/mountainish Western PA.

I also tow a 27', ~5,100 lb (with all the stuff we want or need loaded) travel trailer and so far, I've averaged right around 13 (+/-0.2) mpg.

Not too shabby for driving something with the aerodynamics of a brick ? ?? :):):)

With 60:40 freeway:street ratio, I average 18 mpg with my stock JTR. Only mods are Sunrider for hardtop and Bestop black twill roll up tonneau cover.

So with my Stock ‘21 Willys eco diesel I’m finding the following after a year of driving:

in town summer: 22.5-23 mpg and I got places to go with the turbo, so no trying for mileage.

in town winter blend (ND)- 17.5-18 mpg with auto start using to warm up engine.

Highway/Interstate at 80mph - 25-26 mpg

Backroads at 60mph- 30 mpg

i did actually replace the BFG KM2’s with Falken AT3W’s to be fair, so not “stock” now that I think of it.?

2021 Overland, pretty much stock with the exception of upgrading tires to 275/65/18 Falken Wildpeaks AT3W. Mileage went down slightly with Falkens, but they’ve been on for over 23K miles

Its not unusual for a Sport S driven sedately, on street tires to get 22 mpg on a road trip.

I average about 17.5 mpg on road trips or in the city and about 19 mpg driving around rural areas.

I'm a stock Mojave with stock 285/70s.
Well hell, and I thought we had done something cool when all along it was normal. Almost sorry I started this thread. ?

A friend who is also on this forum drives between CT and northern NH on a regular basis. He averages in the 22s most of the time. He has a Sport S Max Tow. (which is relevant because it comes with 4.10 gears)
