Well yall got them special motors cause I haven't even come close to sniffing that kind of mileage. Just did about 800 miles and driving around 65-70 mostly all freeway on Sport S Max on 33's best it saw was 19 and that was only for a brief time. Most everything else was in the 17-18 range. Flat, flat and flat road

I did a trip last weekend, three hours each way, straight freeway and got 23.6 MPG at 65 MPH. I have 285/70 KO2s and Max Tow.

....never gotten over 17 MPG going downhill with a tailwind. I envy you guys who say you've gotten in the 20's consistently, and anything over 18 mpg running 80 mph or towing (or both) is flat-out impressive!

Best I've done in my gasser is 18.9 on a 7hr round trip to the beach and back. That's in a Max tow on 37's. Around town it's about 17.2 to 17.5.

Around town I'm getting high 17s, low 18s. On highway I've gotten close to 23mpg with my 2021 Gladiator Sport S and the 3.6L. Has the Max Tow with 4.10 gears.

with the higher cost of diesel fuel, DEF, more expensive oil changes and the higher cost of buying the diesel engine itself, not to mention the more expensive repairs/maintenance, I doubt there will ever be a return on investment with a diesel engine, but if driving a diesel is very pleasurable to you, then maybe it's worth it.

I would imagine that the higher cost of diesel vs gas in the mpg aspect would equal out. More or less. Repairs and maintenance? 125k warranty disappearing deductible 7 year. Plus I paid 8% under invoice on my Gladiator so the diesel engine realistically only cost me an additional 1500$ not to worried about it. Yes it does give.me pleasure to drive a not so slug gasser.

That is a wonderful thing that we have so many choices. I can relate to driving what you truly enjoy. I drive only manual transmissions and they don't get even as much fuel mileage as automatics so people are quick to point that out but I just love driving them better. And I have owned diesel and gas vehicles and I prefer the instant throttle response and free revving of gas engines, it's all just preferences and choices, a lot of fun.

Out of curiosity... what happened to your other 6 gallons of fuel? You have a full tank, and at that average mpg you should be getting well into the 650 miles range. 35.2 average and 452 mile range means you've only got a 12.8 gallon gas tank... that's interesting. I'd be willing to bet that's what happens when you're getting 23.7 mpg and you suddenly reset your average mpg while cruising on the highway... If I were averaging 35 mpg and only got 450 miles per tank I'd be at the dealership in a hurry

Went on a road trip and did over 1400 miles in 4 days. Went from NJ to Dayton, Columbus, Cleveland & Buffalo/Niagra then back to NJ. Fueled up 3 times and averaged a little over 24 in the mountains in PA and after that got 28.5 and 28.8 mpg through Ohio, PA and NY back to NJ. That is the best yet for me on the diesel keeping it to around 70 mph on the highway. I normally get around 24 with mixed driving at home.
