I had posted earlier about my system not working and I actually had a repeat visit to the service department for the same issue. In Nov 2020 (10-months after I bought my rig) it stopped working and I took it in for warranty work. They replaced the aux battery and everything was fine for the next 6-months or so. The system stopped working so after a few more months (Nov 2021) I took it in again and they replaced BOTH batteries and now everything has been working great ?

This is immensely helpful. At this very moment the dealer says because it is lifted they will not cover it. Dealership installed “covered” lift 2” at time of purchase….ridiculous. No other mods but factory 2”.

They can’t deny you for a lift tell them to eat a fat bag of cock and take it to another dealer.

Bunk - dealers sell and install lifts all the time here. Even the steering TSB says as long as the alignment is within specs, they don't care if it's lifted.
I was told flat out - the MOPAR parts are covered by their 2 year warranty, the dealer covers the installation and once installed, the MOPAR parts become part of the truck and are covered like any other part of the truck.
If it's not a MOPAR part, they can't cover that part itself, but the rest of the truck is covered unless they can prove that part caused an issue.
You could have a 5" lift and if it had electrical issues - it's covered and the dealer can't deny it. (although they may gripe about needing a ladder to reach the battery or close the hood)

Well I drove down to the dealer just now and showed them the Nov 21 TSB - and specifically pointed out the section that says as long as it fits in a rack - they will do it - it is covered. And the section that says they MUST perform a full balance. WTF.

So - She asks me to email it, done. I watch her highlight the 2 sections aforementioned. She shrugs and says I'm caught in the middle here - maybe the tech didn't have the latest TSB? I said look, you're dealing with an engineer here, and this is what your TSb says - its undeniable, please review with your service manager as well, and let's get this done right.

She did previously mention on phone that "all the tech does is eyeball it when these are done." Then tried to pull the "The tech mentioned this jeep is lifted....and I'm like yeah - Mopar fully extended warranty covered to the max 2" and 37" tires as stated in the paperwork - AND NO OTHER LIFT MODS." hmmm. Anyway - the FEA being unknown indicates they likely not working off the Nov 21 paperwork.

"I'd hate to have to get jeep cares involved, and there is a LOT of support and community out there and I'd hate to have this come up on the boards yada yada." "Ok, leave it with me" and away we goes.

Alignments are $140 she said earlier....uh uh. Jeep wandered all over the place, better after TSb fix but steering wheel off 10-15deg - aint buy-in it. Thanks to all the supporters and Shadowpops for having the quick draw on the TSB....

Now - as for the battery in OP....well that separate service tech hasn't gotten to it yet.......

Well I’m back. Alignment was not done, but wheel was straightened. And yes, admittedly they did not have the new TSB. So why wasn’t an alignment done then? Wth. Guess if you can eyeball it and get the wheel close it’s good enough. For now - the steering seems straight. I just wanted it out of there at this point.

and….drum roll…..only charged the batts. again.

Now, It worked in my 9 tests going around the block the other way home. But this is what happened last time, quit again in a day.

Anyway, I’m sure that’s always going to be the first step, charge batts until something fails a test.

Maybe I should consider opening a betting pool for 24, 48 or 72hrs until my ESS is failing again.

For now - this is what I get to see and everything working as it should…

Found more of the techs notes…aux batt at 52% was reason for it not engaging ESS, all charged to 90%. After a few hours …Anyone know what the “fail” batt % might be to warrant full on replacement? Maybe < 50%?

I should have never started down this path.

In 16000 miles I’ve never had a death wobble and this AM with my triplets on the way to school, I get DEATH WOBBLE 4 TIMES from a man hole cover and train tracks I’ve traversed hundreds of times no issue.

Luckily no one behind me and locked up from 35-40mph. With my kids. Stupid. Render this truck undrivable at this point.

and the batt is charging for over an hour now. ESS of course won’t work. Made it 12hrs (or less).

sitting at the dealership after review with service manager. Wtf.

for the record this dealership is Earnhardt in Queen Creek Az. This is their last attempt to make this right. Then I’m back to the original dealer.

sofaking pist right now.

Took me in as VIP. Death wobble. Rental truck.

now getting fleeced for fox steering dampener upgrade. My cost. For a bandaid. I bet if an alignment was done to verify Toe in etc we’d be better off.

But also guess what- both batteries now getting replaced under warranty.

Stop start is a turd. I think I read it saves a water bottle of gas if you are in the city. To me it's not worth the wear and tear on my engine. Also the batteries are shit. I've had the battery charging not ready message for months but now it says aux switches not available battery charging often when I start it. I guess my small battery is goin bad again. And the dealers do not give a shit. Anything they can do to not be responsible for fixing this new vehicle, they take it. Beside that and my emergency brake hanging, I love my truck.

The start/stop failed on mine due to an egr valve glitch, so is typed in the report. I so enjoyed not having to worry with that little button, but having a new vehicle, everything should work.
