Since everyone is having so many issues the Aux Battery. Will there ever be a fix. Or will we be regulated to buying new batteries every 18 months or so. I know most people do the Aux Delete Mod. But that’s not really a fix for a problem. @JeepCares

It's not really a problem.

They buy batteries from the lowest bidder. So you get a cheap set of batteries.
If they fail under warranty, have Jeep replace them. If they fail after warranty, don't put cheap batteries back in.

I'm heading to 5 years now with factory batteries. Yes I check them and am watching for them to start to fail. But until they do, they stay in.

The whole auto battery industry has gone downhill. Used to be you could find 60 month batteries with no problem. Good luck finding them for the JT.

When you buy the batteries, try to ensure that if the battery(s) fail within the time period, you get a replacement battery free-- not a 'pro-rated' charge for the same battery..

My f-150's battery w/ a 3-year replacement warranty just failed after a bit over a year-- sucks, but it's nice that they plop a new battery in at no-cost... I guess I can do it every year if i need to...

Problem is sitting at the Stealership for 3-4 hours while they determine if the Batteries are junk. When it’s obvious they are.

Wow 5 years not to bad. I am on 2 weeks and it looks like they are failing already. The Aux before that failed within a week. I’ll be watching it this week. Start seeing charging into the 11’s again…. Well back to the Stealership for another 3-4 of GR8 testing.

How much is your time worth? Yes, Jeep will test and keep replacing them while it's under warranty.

You can get a good set of batteries shipped right to your door. This will eliminate the problem, unless there is something else wrong with the truck.

This is what I bought. My factory Main Battery lasted 3.5 years, the factory Aux was good for 4 years.

I don’t consider there to be an actual problem. Just a perceived one. Mine lasted 50k of hard miles and heavy amp draws, and 3 years. That’s perfectly reasonable for battery life.

on the 45 years I’ve been driving. Battery life is usually around 8 plus years in Northern Wis. we get -25 in the winter to 95 plus for swings.

Forgot to add I know a lot of people it’s a 1 1/2 thing. Just replace 3 batteries within 500 miles and now looking at possible another or both. 24,000 on mine.

You can't compare battery life of old vehicles that everything was off when the key was off to modern vehicles. There is always a mild draw. I agree with the idea of just buying better batteries and/or deleting the aux. Even under warranty I'd buy better batteries and drop them off with the truck for the dealer to do the work.

Agreed, except for letting the dealer do it. They love blowing fuses. Why pay them to mess up your truck possibly.

Hate to say it. I am including current and more modern vehicles. I drive about 100 miles a day round trip for work. I don’t know anyone that has these issues with another brand. My 2017 Subaru hasn’t needed a battery yet. 145,000 miles. My 2013 F150 didn’t get a new battery for the first 198,000 miles. Which I just traded for this Jeep at 287,000 miles and just one battery replacement. My 2011 Subaru never needed a new battery. 150,000 miles. My 2004 subaru didn’t need a new battery. 165,000 miles. My 2001 Mustang GT never needed one 65,000 miles. My 2004 F150 never needed one at 165,000 miles. And the list goes on. All these vehicles has ECM,s that drained the batteries. Never an issue. Why should we have to put Better Batteries in under the warranties? And why should we have to modify the vehicle and Delete the Aux.

There is a problem with the system. Plain and simple.

2019 Subaru is still on the OEM battery at 50,000 miles.
Every other time I go in the garage it's making noises running self diagnostics. I can hear the fuel being tested.
So no, it's not modern vehicles. It's modern Jeep vehicles.

Can't go by that comparison either, wife's 2015 Legacy had the battery replaced twice under warranty.
