Is anyone else getting sore shoulder from having to lean forward because the headrest don’t go back enough? I had to turn mine backwards.

Yeah back on early days of having the JK Wrangler the same problem was commonly observed. We had forum threads on how to remove the headrests, then we bent the metal arms back to make the headrest position more upright. I was expecting to have to do that on the JT but have not yet looked closely at how they connect to the seat. It took quite a bit of force on the JK to bend them. I'm still in build status D1 on my Gladiator but I did notice the issue persisted on my last JT test drive.

I've not found it to be an issue. The headrest is less annoying than what is in my Nissan. I have it raised a couple notches, and have the seat fairly straight up and down, not leaning back. The steering wheel also adjusts forward and back, along with up and down. I have mine set back as far as possible, to accommodate the length of my arms.

Anyone attempt any fixes for this other than flipping them around? I can't stand the sore neck anymore

It's odd that some people have an issue with the headrests and some don't. I never even come in contact with them unless I lean my head back. Granted it doesn't lean back far before touching the headrest but it is still back. Under normal driving conditions I never know it's there.

Have you tried just leaning the seat back one or two more notches to the rear?

I made mine just right by driving over them. Found that trick on the JL forum. I do not recommend doing it this way but I bent them just enough to be comfortable. Im pretty happy with my results.

Same complaint. I flipped mine around so at least it isnt uncomfortable, but they are definitely not at a good angle if you were to get into an accident. Plan on looking into bending them to reduce the angle. Seems like there are a fair amount of threads on the JK and JL forums.

Do you guys make sure the headrest is level with the top of your head? I'm not very tall but still had to pull it out several notches to get it in the right spot.

They can be annoying but if it prevents whiplash I'm willing to adjust to it.
