Bought the wife a 2020 jeep gladiator rubicon any idea what this is plugged into the ODBDII port? The toggle switch zipped tied to it just goes to a light bar.

Underneath is completely blank. It has a QR code on the top I’ll see if I can get a better picture of it once I’m home.

It looks like an OBD2 bluetooth widget. I would pull it out and see if it has any markings on it.

Flux Capacitor. That’s what I’m going with. Turns the 3.6 into an RB2.8 DET.

Not really but yeah just unplug it and see what happens. It ain’t factory that’s for sure.

Looks like the dealership left one of their service bay ODBII wireless readers in your JT by accident... but the zipped lighted switch strapped to it is confusing.

There are two separate things
going on here.

First I would flip the rocker switch
with ignition on and ignition off,
headlights on and off,
and see what if anything changes.
Might just be auxiliary lighting
or alarm system
that has been removed by the PO.

Second cut the switch free
and pull the device out of the OBDII socket
for a better look at the device.
Does it have USB or other ports
on the sides or underneath it?
Labels and so forth.
It might be the transmitter
for an OBDII scanner
that can be read on a laptop
or smartphone.

But I could be wrong.
I often am.

My guess is that for the previous owner to have plugged in for insurance discount, that also made a convenient place to redneck engineer a light switch too.

Typically OBD2 trackers aren't going to be easily unplugged like that. At least not the ones shady car dealers slide in in case they need to repo your car. For sure I would consider unplugging it. Are your wheels stock sizes? Just wondering if the previous owner used that widget to change tire sizes or any of a number of other adjustments you can do to a Jeep with a OBD2 widget and the required software / app.
