Thought this might be a fun thread idea...

I've come along many vehicles that I have had to "rescue" from the situation they were in. My intent here is not to call out the unfortunate, but to actually share some of the situations I've encountered.

Post up the "poorly parked" vehicles you've happened upon. FWIW, "poorly parked" means STUCK vehicles.

2WD with street tires out scouting a hunting location and up to the frame in spots in the sand.

My absolute favorite was these guys crossing the Verde River with no recovery gear of their own. The second pic is my Wrangler anchored to a big Ford diesel in order to winch them back.

Not so much of a "parking" issue, but someone left this big boulder in the middle of the trail.

And the last one here is some idiot who spends too much time on internet forums and needs to spend more time on trails learning how not to get stuck...LOL. I have done this particular trail 6 times and only made it over this obstacle unassisted 3 times. This wasn't one of them.

In this case the driver's rear tire was hung up on a submerged log.

Both occasions were self-recovered.

I try not to go to Mt Charleston, about an hour outside of town, in the winter because of the number of people trying to play in the little snow we get who end up stuck. I helped this fellow out in a newer Chevy who drove on to some snow and ended up on his frame. Nothing as crazy as what others are showing though.

I don't have any pictures (well maybe - let me check the PC when I get home) but we were up in North Carolina in Uwharrie National Forest and came across a Dodge Durango (first gen) on street tires on a trail. Luckily it was a 4WD. Guy had some basic recovery and adventure gear, but was stuck in a part of the trail where he wasn't gonna be able to go out the way he came, or keep going forward, without help. It was raining and he was down in there with his wife and kids.

We ended up all climbing this really nasty, long, hill with considerable effort and then told him to 'send it' as far up the hill as he could so we could reach him. Took most of a winch line plus a recovery strap to reach him and pull him the rest of the way up 'crap mountain' as we would later call it. We had to anchor two JK's together so we wouldn't slide down while pulling him up. After we got him to the top we put him in the middle of the group and led him out to the parking area.

Quite the mess.

We also ended up spotting two 4Runner's full of tourists (must have been 10 Asians that spoke little to no english) through Elephant Hill in Moab a few years ago. It was hella funny. I can post some pictures of that one later.

Found this on a moto ride the weekend of the 4th west of Redfeather Lakes. Didn't get a pic of it but there was a cum-a-long on the other side to keep it from rolling or sliding further passenger.

Not only should he not park there but it looks like they need a “No Right Turn” sign as well!!!

Sometimes I wonder if that is their intent to play in snow up there.

No, they have done literally 0 infrastructure upgrades on the mountain since, well it feels since I’ve been alive. No lane expansions, no parking lots, nothing. An exploding population and people who don’t know how to drive in these conditions always leads to a crap show every weekend in winter.
