Stock Rubicon I was 17.1. With 35's, steel bumper and 1.5" leveling kit, I'm at 16.6 most weeks. Mix of highway and city driving. Best I ever saw when stock was 18 on a 400 mile highway trip.

Just had the bumper off for 2 months waiting for it to get powdercoated. With no bumper I was getting the same mileage as with the bumper.

Also noticed only lose about .2-.3 gpm when soft top up but doors off. With doors off and top down, I think I'm down about 1 mpg or 1.2 mpg.

I average 21in the summer and my worst in the winter was 17. Recently i had about 120 miles on 55mph back roads with minimal stopping. Part that confused me was the MPG screen said 26.8 but the trip odo that was resent at the gas pump said 23.0. Both the MPG screen and trip get reset at the exact same time with the engine off while the pump is filling the tank.

FWIW, The mileage numbers I provided are hand-calc’d. That said, the instrument cluster is impressively accurate. Within .2-.3 MPG of actual, and once was shortchanging itself by .2 MPG.

On my typical 126 to 128 mile round trip, it’s within a mile or two of what I believe to be true distance measurement.
Mine is not, it ranges from estimating -0.2 low (rare) to 1.5 high. The average is 0.5 mpg high on a 16-18 gal fill with 43 data points over 15,000 miles and 773 gallons. Heck the image above makes me go ... WTF!?

None of your business.
Having one of THE most capable off road vehicles in the world, AND getting objectively great MPG is what separates us from the animals.

Jeeps are not Prius —thankfully for that, I can still look my children in the eyes.

When I catch myself getting upset about the pentastar not being a rocket ship, I try and remind myself that any pentastar JT ZF will lay waste to the best 4.0 combo ever shipped from Mopar. I AM that guy crying in front of the starving African kid because they put pickles on my double quarter pounder with cheese.

2020 JTR, steel bumper (wings removed), stock tires, stock suspension. 20-ish mpg if I stay on back roads and keep the speed below 60. Drops to 17-ish on interstate at 75 mph. Doors/top off knocks it down 2-3 mpg. Curious what the mpg would do on the interstate with the windshield down?

I am getting 15.9ish right now if i granny it. I just put 35's on it like 600 miles ago. I did hit 19mpg driving to LA once to a Pearl Jam concert. Realistically i have never gotten better than 17 for more that a week and that was stock 33's. I did just install a peddle control and that seems to have helped a lot. I love the Jeep and its a little game we play together, trying to maximize MPG.

I had a prius for a while and we also have a Ionq. Shit we get 600 mile on a single tank. That makes up for my 295 mile on 22 gal in my Glady

What size tires are you running?

Whats the highest mpg youve averaged on your gladiator? Mines been much better than i thought it would be. Normally im around 23, but lately its been pretty good. Almost all highway with 300lbs or so of tools in the back.

2020 Overland, ordered 5/19, built 6/19. Stock. The weekend after I took delivery (7/19) I went from home (outside Philly) to Boston, MA and averaged 23.5 MPG, brand spankin' new from the factory. I was pretty impressed :)

Now I've got around 27K on the clock and through out, I've observed in the VIC is typically 20.3 bopping around, and when calculated fill to fill, anywhere from 20.1 to 20.4.

Highway is another story. Drove it on a 1,500+ mile trip a couple of years ago and observed on the VIC around 27+ and when filled and calculated, observed real close to 27. That was all interstate with the cruise set at 70 MPH. When I got to northern MI and the speed limit went to 75 MPH, my fuel economy dropped from the high 26's low 27's to 22 MPG.

Towing, 5,100 lb with all we want or need, 27' camper, east coast, manual shifting of the 8sp, I calculated an average of 13 MPG (12.5-13.6 MPG calc'd).

Not too shabby for a brick.

My Wife's 2019 Grand Cherokee Ltd. with the same engine, bopping around and highway gets just about 1 MPG more. Aerodynamics :CWL::CWL::CWL:

Your gears help with the mpg. Mine with the 4.10's sees an average of 17 in the summer. Did I mention I have a Max Tow?

Both my friend's and my Willys had Firestone Destination M/T's on them. It is possible that the Willys JT's with the BFG M/T's are set correctly. I don't know the actual diameter of the BFG's, but they are 255/75r17 as well. Could be the Firestones run small, and the change in diameter was not made at the factory. Who knows. At any rate, I think 18-19 mpg with 34's is magnificent!
I didn't know you could get a Willy's with anything other than the BFG KM2's from the factory. My KM2's measure almost exactly 31" with the weight of the truck on them.

My '21 came with Firestones. I noticed that several more on the forum have Firestones as well.

Excuse my hot air in advance! 2020 manual JT, Rubicon stubby steel bumper, 265/70/17 BFG AT KO2 tires. Tazer corrected speedo. 20-21mph unless I'm hypermiling then 24-27 depending on everything. Highway I get 11-18 mph attempting to play in the middle or left lanes. Even at the normal 20mpgs I am happy because it's double my TJ with its flogged squirrel of a 4cylinder engine, 4.56s, and 33" tires being manually shifted through its 5 speed manual transmission!
