I got the same paper manual on a 9/20 build 21 JTR. The dealer did have to go to the back and get it all for me though, it wasnt just in the car.

Mine was delivered August 1, 2020 with a paper manual in the glovebox.

A big plus for buying the JT is that I knew there are PLENTY of Pentastar engines out there, and enough folks doing Dana60/engine swaps that the engine/trans/axles would be available cheap. Several times a year I find engine/transmission combos being listed for $2-4k and Rubicon axles with lockers going for $4k. Thus any catastrophe after warranty, if my Mechanical Breakdown Insurance through Geico denied a claim, would not be a $10k bill, but likely something closer to under $5k

That being said, I change my oil every 5k miles and have the receipts to show I am regularly buying oil.

Yeah... Blackstone UOA is good stuff (not that the third party shop did this), but a warranty is a two way street. You have to maintain some minimum maintenance schedule defined by the warranty.

Also noteworthy is the owners' manual existing ONLY in the infotainment system... It's like they're literally trying to keep people from reading it. What sane individual is going to sit in their car for however many hours it takes to get through however many hundreds of pages? Dumb. I think it was GM that went to digital, but you could still request a print copy free of charge. Not sure if this is the case here, but this is one of the stupider and more anti-consumer maneuvers in recent years.

You can always download digital versions to have on phone, your computers, your iPad, whatever. There's really no excuse, IMO. If people don't know by now they need to change oil, or aren't sure - ASK THE DEALER.
Blaming a company for going digital? Naw - still up to the OWNER.

The easiest thing to do is to use the MOPAR app. to document your maint.. The dealer uses the same app. You get both owner entries and dealer entries in the same app. When you bring the truck in for service, they see all the maint. you did, and all the maint. the dealer did. Interesting, my 2022 came with a paper manual but I do not have the digital one on my 8.4". It was the opposite on my 2018 JL.

Mine came with paper too. Sales guy said they had stopped paper for a while, but they were doing paper again at the time mine came in - 11/2019.

When I asked about a manual, I was told it was available online, or accessible in the sound system, or I could order online. I think I posted the website on here at the time. I was told they did not come with paper manuals. Stealership fibbing? Mayhaps. Many folks appreciated me posting the link, as they were told the same thing.

It has varied with time - dealer may not be lying as Jeep has gone back and forth. When I ordered they said it would be digital. When my truck arrived the guy said "looks like they are going paper again" - who knows, maybe a few months later they dropped paper again.
In any case, there's no excuse for not asking the dealership, looking at the JEEP dot com site - and more. I was advised "go create an account and you'll find everything there and if you have any questions you can contact me any time". He's right - I've called him and emailed him with some high-level tech questions, he does his research there and gets back to me normally the same day.

It's so silly going to one of those quickly lube places and being told by the lube guy of the day something like that - I'd take anything they say with a grain of salt.

True story related to me by an IHP (Iowa Highway Patrol) trooper years ago. The officer came upon a vehicle along the shoulder of the interstate here - hood up, driver in vehicle. He approached the motorist and asked what was wrong, if he could be of help. The driver replied - I don't know, it just started slowing down, made a noise and now I can't get it started again.
The officer walked around front and checked around for the usual suspects - was it hot? Leaks? etc. and pulled the dipstick, wiped it, inserted it, looked, wiped it and inserted and pulled it again - still dry.
He went back to the motorist, still in the car, and asked how many miles were on it - he looked at the odometer and it had something like 35,000 miles (can't recall the exact number the trooper told)
The officer asked the motorist- when did you last have the oil changed?
Oh, this is a leased vehicle, I don't have to do that......

And there you have it - the wit and wisdom of the American motoring public.

I used to work on IHP cars years ago, doing service work, minor repairs. The major stuff was done at the state garage. I became friends with a few of them and the stuff they could tell about, amazing (and scary).

So I take that as a tip for those trying to decide whether to lease or purchase a new Jeep Gladiator, lease it, it's cheaper because you don't have to do any maintenance.
