Was working with a local dealer on a sport S that was in transit, but ended up not getting to the lot in time for me. I was going to have them add a lift and tires for me, but then I saw this beauty and decided to negotiate. She was basically the real Rubicon I was trying to mimic with a sport S build.
You can see they started high with a bit of inflation on the dealer added junk as well as the lift/tires/accessories.
Ended up at 53.5 purchase including dealer fee being off set by a trade in of my old beat up but reliable dakota.
56.8 out the door tax title tag tank of gas etc.
I think I did pretty good and the guys I dealt with at Jerry Ulm were very nice. Had a lot of fun.

Thanks everyone. I do love her. I have no regrets. Was rusty on car negotiating. It had been years. Read a few posts here to brush up. Thanks for the help.

You did great if you’re happy with it. Those are actually some good looking dealer add-ons, which is rare. They usually throw crap on there. Plus, you were able to get the price down on them. Looks great, enjoy it!

I tried to get one from jerry ulm. they wanted to nail me for $1000 doc fee and and another 1k for some gps/theft device and refused to remove it. they told me goodluck finding another gladiator with everything I want in the country....so I did and paid 390 doc fee and no dumb gps and still got it WAY cheaper for identical gladiator lol fortunately enough that was only 2hrs away instead of a flight.

I could see how it could have gone that way if I had a different salesman. Jordan was super cool and a straight shooter. We negotiated what I think was fair in under and hour and both had fun the whole time. Great guy.

2nd on the reaction of your passenger!

not sure if this this the first Jeep, but either way the best part of jeeping for me has been fun with the kids. Working on it, cruising aroundmaking adventures out of errands.... etc!

Enjoy!!!!

I didn't target those directly as they had their shields up and ready to defend. In the end I don't care what numbers they put in what slots as long as I liked the final price. I also avoided all the finance guy tricks entirely by having my own credit union lined up already.

I started with the invoice price. Calculated the percent below I wanted added in what was a fair value in my mind for any fees and upgrades. Then added tax title tag for a final and negotiated from there.
I think I added 300 for dealer fee, 600 for the tint/gps thing, and 5500 for the rims tires instead of the 8500 they quoted. I'm sure I could have done better if I played harder or went with one of the 8% below dealers. But I was happy to keep the money local and love the fact she is already sitting in my driveway.

Ask for Jordan Beaty. Tell him Jordan sent you. He was a really nice guy and easy to deal with.
