The travel tube and/or ski rack works well for freshwater rods, too. Buddy of mine used pvc to make a frame and holders angled back 45-60 degrees that sat in the bed of his truck. Plenty of expensive and inexpensive options.

Looking to see how others are carrying their rods.

Looking for ideas for my bed rails or front bumper.

Show me what you do!

Love your setup!! What Tonneau, bedrails and side steps are you running? I'm particularly interested in those bed rails. I plan on running the Bak X4S revolver tonneau and was looking for shorter bed rails like these so I could then run a Yakima basket above the bed for additional gear storage. (while still allowing me to at least partially roll up the tonneau to gain some bed access.)

Yes, I am wanting to do angled holders off the cross bar. I just need to get creative.

This, when top and doors off or with soft top on. Ski rack, when hardtop on (ski rack mounted to hardtop directly). Cooler (54 qt.)/rod rack is mounted using my front 2” receiver mount. Easy on, easy off!

You're the man, thanks for the detail!!

Let me stew on the nerf steps. I'm picking up a Mojave, so it'll obviously come with the Rubi Rails. I've been poking around at all the different options for side steps, nerf bars and sliders, trying to find ones that work in conjunction with the rubi rails as I like how the rubi rails hide the pinch weld and appear to have a nice clean fit and finish. I was looking more closely at the White Knuckle sliders which will work with the rubi rails. Pricey, but seem to be pretty nice. I use a simms bounty hunter 2 piece fly rod holder in back seat. Use fly rods for flats and surf fishing.

I live by OC MD and we spend a lot of time on the beach. I have 2 custom made front racks (one we run on my wife's F250, also holds grandbabies) Built by Justice Welding many years ago , but currently running roof racks. I am also playing with... mocking up rocket launchers with PVC as we sometimes switch out pole and it's easier than keeping them in holders or getting back on roof. Both front racks are really too big for the Gladiator

Roof racks..

My suggestion is (like most others have done), make something yourself because it will depend on what you have on your truck to work around.

Top Pic: When I had my bed rack, I built a rack and mounted on the side that I can swivel upwards to access the inside of the bed from the side. I also built the rack as well. My second one.

Bottom Pic: But now that I have the ARS JT Overhead Cab rack, I have a fishing pole rack that I made to mount on top of that.

So, it all depends on how your truck is setup.

My old standby has always been PVC pipe and end caps. Reels removed, and stowed out of sunlight, secondary method in the boat behind my Jeep. :like:

For fishing gear, it's always with me.
Plano make a nice simple rod tube I use for the rod and a soft sided tackle box with a reel and tackle.

I just bungie mine in the back of the bed. Most of the time I have a kayak in the back, so the tailgate is down. I have transported with the tailgate up and I just kind of bungie them in a way as to not break the tips.
