Shopping for a used Gladiator, leaning towards a Mojave or Rubicon. I am finding that these seem to be tech loaded (blind spot, auto pilot cruise, heated seats/steering wheels, tech packages, etc. etc). I have found a few that also have zero options (outside what comes on the base Mojave/Rubicon).

Are you finding these tech packages to be reliable or not worth it? I would love a heated steering wheel, but could take or leave the rest.

What are your real world component and system failures? Looking for this to be a reliable daily and travel rig for a while.

We have the cross traffic sensors, the cold weather package and the inverter. While my tech hasn't failed, I know of a heated steering wheel that melted.
Your mileage may vary.

None of my tech on my 24 JT/M has crapped out yet. And yes, I also long for the days of a physical throttle body and wires, not chips.

Mine is a very well optioned 22 Mojave. I looked for a very long time to find it.

I don't rely on the autopilot because there's too much traffic around here to use cruise control frequently but when I have had the chance it's decent. Her Bronco Sport's will turn the wheel to follow the road so the bar is pretty high.

Jeep's accident alert works well. The Ford throws false alarms too frequently btw.

The blind spot light in the mirror is helpful but I don't rely on it.

Heated seats and steering wheel are a creature comfort I've grown quite fond of.

I haven't used the inverter yet, but I could see charging my tool batteries with it. I recall that because it's not pure sine you shouldn't charge a computer battery with it.

I also have SelecTrac. Based on my searches it wasn't a common option before it was restricted to the X. Ive used it a little in hard rain but this winter will give it a proper go.

Front camera I use all the time. I'm 6'1" but can't see over the hood so tight parking lots and crawling trails makes it worth the price of admission. You can add that in the aftermarket relatively inexpensively and a few have retrofitted the OEM but thats pricey. Search for the threads here.

The infotainment will rarely get a little janky. I'll have it where the unit just won't play anything in XM mode. It will occasionally sort itself out, but it can be literally 5-10 minutes. I can't really pull over and turn the truck off and on because it seems like it needs a few minutes to fully shut down.

For clarity I've had my truck ~6 years and it's probably happened under 10 times.

The other thing I've had is when I'm using apple carplay, the sound will occasionally get crackly. I've tried unplugging and replugging it, and changing cords, but it's the same deal where I have to let the whole thing fully shut down. This has happened probably 20 times.

But in the time I've owned it, that's really the only tech related issues I've had, and they are really minor.

Maybe it needs recalibration. On my wife's Bronco Sport, we've had no false alarms.
Tried that route a couple times, before the first windshield was replaced from a crack and then again after #2 and #3 but nada. Appears the Broncos suffer from a similar windshield angle issue to Jeeps.

Another comparison: Occasionally CarPlay on the Jeep will drop out but within a few minutes reset either on its own or from my unplugging and plugging back in. Same happens on the Bronco but it usually doesn't reset until a hard turn off and at least 5 minutes parked and off. Ford claims they can't replicate it and it works fine.

I'm not to turn this into an anti-Ford thread jack but I think it's worth noting since you have one as well and frankly the Bronco Sport forum sucks. I'd rather avoid posting in that place.

Ditto on the Apple Car Play (wired). Once or twice a week, in the middle of a so g it will just stop recognizing the phone. Dash shows nothing is plugged in. Unplugging and re-plugging the cord doesn’t help. Gotta switch to BT the rest if the trip. Get back in after a stop…everything works again. Switching to BT is workable for music but doesnt help if youre displaying the map on the screen.

I had a 2020 JT Overland that was loaded and never had a problem. I now have a 2025 Rubicon X with all the tech stuff . No problems.

I got everything except blind spot and ACC and mine has never failed. It will be 6 yrs old in Dec.

I used the adaptive cruise on my 2026 over the weekend was pretty impressed, when traffic slowed it brought me to a nearly complete stop and sped right back up when it started going again, not that I didn't keep my foot right near the brakes anyway. Was very smooth compared to some I have used.

I have a 22 Mojave as well, no problems, and I have added features, had done right, still no problems!

24 Mojave X, and the tech has been great. Wireless Carplay is a bonus for sure. After a couple years, about the only thing I have had to do twice was a soft-reset. In one case this was after a software update, and not sure why I needed to in the second case. The soft-reset is easy and no settings were lost.

By the way, this is my first experience with a heated steering wheel. Really great for a Minnesota winter.
