Watched the Hummer EV preview and I have to admit I'm amazed with some of the tech GM came up with.
  • 4 wheel steering
  • "Crabwalk" mode
  • Air lift suspension
  • 35" stock / 37" option

Based on pricepoints, I'm wondering if the Hummer EV is a bigger thread to Ford than to FCA?

Yep, Agreed. I love seeing what Ford has come out with on the Bronco and GM now with the Hummer. It really goes to show just how behind in tech FCA is with their products. I hope this really starts to push them a bit to include more.

From what I've read it starts at 80k and can go just over 110k.
Yeah. It’s a beast but a 300 mile range is still a non starter. No matter how kick ass they make these EVs, until the range exceeds 400 miles and recharge takes as long as it takes me to pump 22 gallons of dinosaur juice they are nothing more than a very cool toy.

This was the tipping point when I bought my JT. I knew the next 3y would be lots of miles for work, so I was looking at an EV for affordability. But most of my miles will be in the back woods of MN, WI, IA, and SD. Looking at charging station locations I found they were few and far between. The ones that did exist didn't have fast charge options.

Looks wide--like the raptor. Might take some of their base. Won't fit where my Jeep can (i.e. squeeze on Elephant Hill) so makes it a no-go. The Bronco will compete more with the Jeep than this. Its affordable, has lockers, 35s, etc.
