for example a 33" tire at 0.75" of toe equates to 1.302 degrees of total toe, which seems to be x5 to x6 spec.

3/4 at 35"

You can't see in the pics, but I have markings at 30, 35 and 40 inches - poor man's alignment, but good enough to see the prior settings were WAY off

I agree, with your premise on the other thread: angle is the proper metric to be using, but if you look around at almost every Jeep forum, people swear that 1/8" at any tire size seems to be the universal number. It has worked for me for many years - CJ's to JL's and now my JT.

Agreed.... even if you just use the "1/8" rule, 3/4" is 6x

1/8" total toe at any diameter?
yessir... no, it doesn't make sense mathematically if you're using angles but it's a tried-and-true number for many a Jeeper.

But, at the distances we're talking it's not worth the mathematical minutiae to "do the math" for many (including me)

For example:

33" tire with 1/8" toe = .221 degrees
40" tire with 1/8" toe = .183 degrees

Not sure if .038 degrees matters at these sizes....

Actually, did that math wrong:

33" = .217
40" = .179

Still 0.038 diff....

This sums it up pretty good. Gotta wait for it in the video though.

I thought the factory spec for Total Toe was .20 degrees with a tolerance of +/-.20 degrees. So, why not set it as close to .20 degrees as you can get and see how it drives?

"Ideal" toe really depends on what your definition of "ideal" is. I little toe-in is typically specified for straight line stability and is coupled with a little negative camber for outside tire grip in corners. It works well for the most part.
