I am going with a Rubicon (aside from the fact that I've always wanted one) because the Sport and Sport S don't have an option for leather. I learned the hard way that pet hair and cloth don't mix well. :)

I thought I did a lot of research before purchase. Don't get me wrong, I am estatic with the new JTR but I got the short end of the stick based on the dealer's lack of product knowledge and my lack of technology knowledge.

The JTR did not have the cold weather or convenince package. I wanted remote start. The salesman and the finance manage both assured me I could use the UConnect app to remote start the JTR I was buying.

Asked the salesman to show me how it worked, and he said I needed a password and would have to set up an account. Said he emailed me a link and I could set it up. Found out the hard way the UConnect remote start only works on some, not all JTR's. It has to be properly equipped.

If this was my DD I would be really irritated since I live in the NE. Salesman and finance manger apoligized and said they thought you could use the UConnect to remote start my vehicle, and then said I could buy an after market remote start for $250.00. I suspect they will be installing that after I speak with the GM.

Lesson learned. Show me before I leave the lot.

Hey bud I hope you can get the dealership to rectify it. Remote start (cold weather group) is an essential one for us too.

I'm no expert with UConnect, but I have read that it's possible to use SiriusXM Guardian to start the JT remotely. It's a subscription based service though and with the Jeep purchase it's only free for the first year. Also, I'm not sure if it would work for JTs that do not have the cold weather package or remote start option "installed" on delivery.

Well I have had Uconnect on my Ram for 2 years now and I have yet to get the Uconnect to do anything (Remote Start, Unlock, Lock). My truck is equipped for it but I can send all the signal request I want and it doesn't work worth a crap. Took it back to dealers to look into and they don't have a clue. They tried it themselves and nothing happened. Said it was software issues and problems with the Uconnect subscription so nothing they could do.

Booooo, Gladys is beautifully dressed. @steffen707 has done a great build (for what HE wants).
Well thanks Proximo! I think all of these JTs look badass stock, more bad-assery with bigger tires, ect. My "Sportaneous" comment was in jest to begin with, considering i have a sport myself.......oh well.

Yes, I had the same issue with my Renegade Trailhawk, the UConnect remote unlock/lock or remote start would not work.
Cheers

So, you just live with that? That seems like kind of an important deal for people living where it is really hot or really cold?

I would've skipped the proximity key as it does not work with the tailgate. I find myself using the button on the fob more often then not because of this.

I am honestly planning to go Sport with 2 options. Max tow and aux switches. Wasn't sold on the switches till I used one to wire up heated seats in my wife's JLU because it didn't have cold weather package. Made it super easy and you can latch them to come on at startup.

Yes, I didn’t have remote start, and it seems you need the remote start option, for the UConnect app to work.
It gets in the 30s and high 20s here, so it would have been nice. I got the remote start on my JT.
Cheers

O that makes a bit more sense. You have to have the remote start in order to access remote start on the vehicle via an app. Otherwise, the app works, but the car lacks the capability. Thanks for clarifying.

That limitation is for the remote start platform Jeep uses. I know when I was looking at F150's the stripped down Lariats did not have remote start but you could use you phone to remote start the truck.. That is why I figured when the salesman and the manager told me you could use your phone to remote start the JT, I did not think twice about it.

I understand. That sucks. Hopefully, when my Jeep with Remote start arrives it will start with not just the key fob but also the app.
