Here are the first pics of the brackets that will be available - likely next week...

These are lower brackets that mount to the Trail Rail and can be used with (bolted to) the upper, Tower Brackets...

These will be far more economical than trying to buy 8 of the individual brackets like I did.

They do need to be test fit onto a Gladiator to see how they'll work with the factory tonneau cover.

Here's the contact info for these brackets (new lower and the Tower upper brackets). You can contact him regarding surface finish, pricing and availability.

Hopefully they come up with a solution for us that don't have the trail rail.

Have you considered a DIY Trail Rail using Unistrut/Superstrut like others have done?

I have. The biggest issue I have is limited time. Sucks because if I had extra time, I wouldn't have to spend extra money...my life is a constant battle between time and money.

I started off using painted black steel T-Slot Nuts but once I found these (referred by a forum member here in another thread) I'm using only Stainless Steel T-Slot Nuts with Stainless Steel hardware (Bolts: â…ś" - 16 x Âľ" long and some 1" long bolts too - and washers, etc.). FYI: I'm using Loctite blue threadlocker 242 on the bolts.

On Amazon...

T Slot Nuts for Toyota Bed Deck Rail, 10 PCS Stainless Steel Nuts for Tacoma & Tundra Cleats, Tie Downs and Accessories 3/8"-16 Thread 304 Steel $29.99 for a set of 10 pieces

I I read this post,e the link to thatthose nuts on Amazon shows that they are out out of stock. I used these from McMaster Carr on a different project. They are black oxide, which should have slightly better corrosion resistance than plain old steel.

https://www.mcmaster.com/94750a111

Also, it's my understanding that gladiator rails are wider than Tacoma rails. The McMaster Carr nuts are for a 5/8" slot, and the neck is not longer than the thickness of the gladiator rail face. In other words, a perfect fit!

I was splashing through salt water last weekend, though, and everything got soaked. Stainless steel would be best!

The sizes of the Toyota Bed Rails and the Gladiator Trail Rails appear to be slightly different. While the hardware seems to be interchangeable it'd be good to know the actual internal T-Slot dimensions of the Gladiator Trail Rail.

I ask because there are a variety of T-Slot nuts available on Amazon and elsewhere but many fit the Toyota Bed Rail which has a slightly different T-Slot size. While they work it'd be good to know the size of the Trail Rail T-Slot so we can identify which hardware fits best in our Trail Rails.

Meanwhile, if the 10-pack of Stainless Steel T-Slot Nuts is out of stock there are 4-packs available:

I actually just saw the Built Right Industries trail rail system and will pick that up. Seems worth while.

This is what I measured. You might want to verify it on yours.

Edit: This is a cross section of the factory bed rail channel.

That's AWESOME! Thanks!

Now we need to take your dimensions and identify the best fitting Stainless Steel T-Nuts

Has anyone contacted Scott Chaney regarding his new brackets? Any info on finish and price?

I've got the Built Right system. It's well done. I'm pleased.
That is good to hear. I almost ordered it last night, then saw it was backordered 2-3 weeks. Gives me a few weeks to keep searching for wheels and tires, or just tires...or... who knows. lol

To be honest, I lucked out! The combination of these brackets allows me to completely roll up the factory Tonneau Cover - it just fits under the Superstrut cross rails - it's exactly what I hoped for and I'm really pleased with how this rather involved project turned out (better than even I expected).

How tall are the four upper brackets? It would help me to know because I have an idea forming in my head.
