Here it is. Took 6 weeks for parts and a day for install. But the difference is night and day.

Great review and information. I was just on Guam for about a month with the Global Hawk unit on base. Lived in Guam for 4.5 years and loved it.

They give you any grief about your suspension mods and tires?

Nice video. I’m just waiting on parts. I dI’d the Fox steering stabilizer and I have to say that helped a bit so I can’t wait to get the steering box sorted out.

Must have got lucky, a few days after insisting it was real and bringing a copy of the TSB they did it. Definitely needed, should really be a recall than a TSB. The more I drove mine, slowly but surely the steering was getting worse.

Not my dealer. I have invested a lot of time in getting to know them, and spend money with them.

Good to know. Its amazing how some dealers are permitted to completely blow off this TSB and blame the customer because of some mods, often remarkably similar to those done on new jeeps on their sales lot (dealer installed suspension lift and tires ---- $10,000) while others, like yours, take care of the customer, knowing the steering gear is crap and the mods have ZERO to do with the horrible steering. The truth is they just dont want to do cut rate repairs when they can get full boat for other work not related to the TSB. FCA ought to bitch slap any dealer denying this repair for reason if the rig is still in the warranty period.

This is all it boils down to in the end. True on all accounts.

My wife really noticed it yesterday when she drove us up to the snow. She's been driving her Honda SUV to work again and she had to adapt. The slack in the steering is even worse now after almost 9K miles.

Local dealership pissed me off but promised me they would order a new box. For a safety issue like this it SHOULD be a recall.

Mine still isn't perfect with the new box. Not as bad as it was. Wish I could be thrilled but I'm not.

I took my buddy who is an ASE master tech with on a wheeling trip. 15 years experience. He looked at my steering wheel and said "That ain't right." Can't wait for my parts to arrive.

Mines a ton better. Noticed right in the parking lot that the whole steering is tighter, more firm. Ten times better at highway speeds.
Agreed

The SOFTWARE has to be updated after the steering gear is replaced. You can swap the steering gear, but it won't be right or complete unless the software is updated because this is EHPS - electro-hydraulic power steering. It's controlled by the PCM. Likely pressures and other fun stuff will be different.
They won't need to do anything other than take your word for it. The TSB says if the customer complains about A, B or C, DO THIS.
As far as what they are saying about working on an import, etc. - there may be "rules" because for it to be done under WARRANTY, they have to do exactly what FCA says or they don't get reimbursed.
