Yes end of day, they hand you a check, you hand them the keys when it's broken. You can negotiate to buy back the busted car for a portion of the check they gave you. You then assume responsibility at your cost to fix it or turn it into lawn art.My thoughts exactly. I had no problem insuring my old Nova. At the same time I don’t want to think about what they’d do to replace the parts. Since I’m the builder I’d assume they would just pay me for the damages and say handle my business. My bigger concern with its insurance is I determined the value. So if it gets stolen, burns down, totaled, etc they write me a check for what I told them it was worth.
