Just a thought. Insurance companies will naturally total a vehicle if parts to repair are not available. Does anyone think that a JEEP Gladiator equipped with the short-lived diesel engine, may not be insurable in the near future? I imagine this engine. is s till being used in Europe. I don't know personally that this engine was used in anything else but the JEEP Wrangler, Gladiator and RAM 1500. For what, 3 years?
I have interest in buying a Gladiator with the diesel. It has had the high pressure pump replaced. Has this engine been used in anything. else within the USA. And for those that have this power plant, are you concerned about issues with this engine in say, the next 10 to 15 years that might make it not-insurable? Let alone, self-fix/repair versus parts or complete engine availability?
