OUCH! No trouble here - Farm Bureau. If we missed a payment we'd be notified that we had xx grace period, plus, our agent would contact us and let us know that the company contacted him that we weren't paid up. Double-safety there.
We've been with the same agent and company since 1982 and even moved several times, clear across the state. He takes great care of us. Get a new vehicle and he sends me digital proof of insurance that same day - while sitting at the dealership. Buy or trade or whatever - we're covered, he makes sure of it, even if he wasn't around to give us that proof of insurance.
A couple of times he's said "no problem, you're covered, just give me the VIN as soon as you can" when we traded.
A couple of times we've compared - and showed the comparisons (usually the others were a tad higher, one was a bit lower) and he pointed out the differences and said if we were concerned about that amount, he could change our policy to match the others and reduce costs. Nope, leave it as is.
They even paid way over NADA and KBB values on a Jeep I totaled 15 or so years ago. The comment from the adjuster "I could see it was very clean and well taken care of and was equipped better than most" - it was thousands more. I was ready for a fight and had all sorts of printed numbers and he blew them all away.

A few years ago I added a 2.7L ecoboost F150 to my collection and was suprised to see how much more the insurance was than my GT Mustang. Please explain lol Mustang was my Primary car in both cases for the policy.

Ive only ever had statefarm and been driving 20+ years. I cant really say anything negative. I havent had to use them much but when I did it was always a no questions asked, taken care of in days situation....luxury rental cars delivered to my doors and and take me to and from the body shop.

I've tried shopping their rates and they are always super competitive. When I shopped for motorcycle insurance their rates blew everyones away (maybe because I have other things insured?)

Most will do discounts for bundling - ours does. And I got a discount motorcycle rate (before I sold my bike that is) because of the limited motorcycle use in Iowa - weather, ya know. Even in the summer not everyone likes to be baked on 100+ degree blacktop or loves riding in 5"/hour rains.

I've never had an issue with them either. When I was in there the rep said they pay people to handle calls and contacts. He said he will let the owner know they aren't following up.

As far as rates they have always been the lowest. I shop around every once in a while and it's amazing how much lower they are than everyone else.

We're with Esurance (Allstate). No problems with them, although it's a bit more difficult to tweak certain things.

Sometimes there's a major glitch in the Matrix. I had a credit card payment not process and the bank didn't notify me that "hey, your transaction didn't go through." I randomly checked and saw a missed payment charge. Wrote to them and they fixed it; turns out they were doing a massive software update during that time. And it was between reporting cycles, so I didn't have a credit score ding for a "missed" payment.

F150 has a lot of aluminum, which is more money to replace when damaged.

Mustang drivers usually kill street racing spectators and get jailed, so they (insurance) know they'll never get any money out of them. ?

Just to chime in with another example....STate Farm did this to me several years ago as well. I was shopping for new coverage, they had the best deal, I wrote a check, they issued me my "temporary" paperwork on the spot at the office to carry with me.......about a month later I realize I had not yet received anything in the mail. I call to inquire and they told me thy made a mistake and could not offer me the coverage at the price quoted and therefore cancelled the coverage.......without telling me! Not only that....they were pretending I had not paid with a check and even went as far as to claim I did not have any printouts documenting my claims. It took me about 2-3 weeks of going back and forth with State Farm corporate (including providing copies of all documents and my canceleld check) and they finally refunded my money. They never once admitted any wrongdoing nor did they even seem to care about the games the local office was playing.

Lol you're not wrong about that. I never got in any trouble in my Mustang though and made it out mostly unscathed. Even if you aren't driving your Mustang like an asshole other people around you drive like an asshole because you have a Mustang. I have a hot hatch Hyundai now that is faster than my GT was. It's way better because I get no attention in my velosterraptor and if a cop see's me going a bit over he problably thinks I'm late to a HOA meeting or some bs lol.

It pays to shop around. I shopped pretty well every company for the JT last year, and again when we got a Tesla 3 in April this year. The variation was shocking. I ended up with Progressive on the JT for just $52/mo for 300/100 coverage and $500 deductible with full glass. Some companies were well over $100. American Family, which covered the previous JK, simply didn't do anything special for all the safety/driver assist features, and Progressive did. The driver assist features WAY more than pay for themselves.

We've gone from Safeco to Progressive to Stillwater to Esurance. Overall, our rates haven't changed that much, even when switching vehicles.

We tried the Safeco plug-in device to get a discount based on "safe driving habits." Biggest hogwash ever. Our stats after 3 months showed that we accelerated "faster than normal" over 30% of the time. Lol. At the time we lived off the freeway, which has metered on-ramps. Acceleration was required.

The Progressive plug-in thing showed I drive slower than a granny and they asked me to send it back early, gave the maximum discount. It didn't register normal ramp acceleration as too much.

I’m sort of in the opposite boat. I live in Florida and am pretty much stuck with USAA (not a bad thing by any means; Been with them for almost 10 years). The reason being is that in Florida insurance companies have to cover the cost of replacement windshields in every policy and they can’t charge a repair cost to their customers. However, they still report them as comprehension claims, even if it’s just glass damage. I pay about $120/mo for insurance with USAA, but I’ve had to replace 4 windshields (2 on my challenger, and 2 on my JT), which shows up as 4 comp claims on my “insurance record” when companies pull it up. I’ve gotten quotes through most companies (Allstate, Progressive, Geico, State Farm) and it’s almost always double what I pay now for half the coverage. If I wanted to have equal insurance coverage it would be almost 3x the price. Luckily USAA has treated me very well!

I have been with State Farm for almost 40 years and always have had good experiences, even with claims. I bundle everything, and that really helps with the rates. The only little issue I had recently was with the purchase of my new Gladiator. They put the wrong VIN into the system and I received notification form DMV that my vehicle was uninsured. Notified my State Farm rep and it was immediately corrected without any issue. Glad nothing happened...

Three years ago now I found out Farmers was ripping me off to the tune of double. I'd been with them for 25 years and the agent actually became a friend . I found out when I went to add a car and the price just seemed way too high. Started shopping around and got really pissed .
USAA Amica and Safeco were all in the ballpark of half what I was paying and I went with Safeco. The quote was based on no tickets no accidents . This was based on covering 5 cars. When they wrote the policy the price went up $100 a year.
What ? I had a windshield replaced two years previous which was considered a claim ! Still the cheapest.
