I've never looked into pricing on tires this big before until I got my JTR and needless to say i'm in sticker shock.
$462 for a 37x12.5x17 Nitto Ridge Grappler at Discount Tire...is this really what it will cost to get into 37's per tire?!?!

I paid $1622 after tax + certificates at Discount Tire about a year ago for my 37" KO2's.

Roughly $400 each. You should be able to get about a 15% discount from them just by asking.

Also, if you are a member of Tread Lightly they offer an additional discount card for Discount Tire. At least they did last year...

Sadly, that's our new reality. Only good deals seem to be on off-brand tires.

this was one of the deciding factors for me between 35s and 37s.

Goodyear wrangler 315/70r17s for $322 ($241.50 with USAA discount) vs $425+ for pretty much any 37 i could find? Plus regear and 2inch aev with gero correction and trackbars?

That was the internal debate I had going prior to the 80.44 walmart kenda 35s special. That blowout made my decision much easier.

Unfortunately pricing has increased in the last couple of years just as other things but some of the stock issues have been better.

yeah, it's not just buying a new set of tires once you go past 35. Marginal gains vs cost going to 37 IMO, at least for where I go.

I found a set of 5 Nitto TGs, 35x12.5 with about 100 miles on them on CL for $1000. No brainer at that point.

That's about right. You can find some cheaper but not by much. Don't get Ironmans because they suck. I bought a set of 35's for my JKU right before I sold it and that's about the worst riding tire I've ever ran.

Yep. That’s nearly 2x what I paid 2 years ago for Cooper STT Pros. I will stop right there.

I know the jeep dealer next to work is doing their buy 3 get the fourth for a dollar. I purchased five 35" (315/70r17 honestly) KO2s for my wrangler this way. Cheapest i found.
