Just brought the truck home this week, and I noticed this inside the driver passenger door. Normal? Bad?

I went out to look at mine and they were fine no rust( however the inside of the torx screw was rusty), What I did notice is we had Thunder storm come through last night and are the rusty parts in the photo on mine had water all over them from the storm, So just to be safe I dried of all the parts and placed a layer of grease over them and inside the torx, I think this is a safe measure to prevent any further rust taking hold in the future

I would have the dealer order you a new one and set up an appointment once it arrives. Looks like this slipped by quality control. It happens. Enjoy your new truck.

warranty claim it, dealer should fix w/o issue
Yea, it'll be an issue, or at least it was with my dealer.

I had to get Jeep Wave involved and after weeks of back and forth, the dealer finally agreed to order the parts and fix it for me. It's not a part that is covered under warranty, as the rust starts from the outside of the hinge. There's no real "fix" other than ordering the exact same part, so that's what I had them do. Once they fix it, I'll take it home and use something on those parts to prevent rust/corrosion (Not sure what I'm gonna use yet).

Some of the bolts were in worse shape than others, and I didn't have any rust dripping down like you're experiencing, but same issue overall. Good Luck, and worst case, Brittany at Jeep Wave was an awesome contact to have. Very diligent.

Hi Swatstar10,
Based on your pictures, this may be concerning. While I cannot provide you with any cement diagnosis, I recommend showing this to your dealer. Keep us posted on any future questions you may have.

It's an FCA thing, I'm trying to understand . . .

(currently an FCA owner; striving to buy another . . . )
