Issues after Magnuson install

Had shop install Magnuson supercharger. I wanted my jeep to have a bit more umpf when towing my 3000lb travel trailer.
I noticed when I took the jeep home that the transmission was acting a little goofy, it seemed to want to hunt for gears and when I floored it, it didn't want to shift into an upper gear.

Fast forward to yesterday, I picked up the trailer from the shop. It was horrible. Doing 70 on the flat ground I would floor the pedal and the jeep did not want to accelerate at all. Tried to maintain 70 and the jeep was overheating. It is way worse than before the supercharger.

To me it seems like the tuning is the culprit. Any thoughts?

My advice would be stop driving until you can get it properly looked at from a tuning perspective. Don't want to be an alarmist, but some of the symptoms you're describing match my experience - and if you didn't read my thread(s), my engine blew up as a result. You don't want to be hunting gears and going WOT at those speeds/load with a bad tune.

edit: I will say, overheating was not a symptom I saw, so that sounds like a separate issue.

Was going to say, would definitely want to check coolant levels and confirm the pump is running properly.

But the gear hunting/holding sounds like my issues, and based on the profile - OP has a 21 like me.

If your Mojave was built in the second half of 2021, then you'll never get the tune right.

There are threads talking about this on the board, @DAVECS1 has talked about this issue.
JEEP changed PCM's and so far no one has been able to successfully crack the new one.

This 100%. Overheating is a problem and it should not. I've run 6k up a massive grade, 9k ft, in 105 deg and never have heated.


Smart nailed it, odds are there is an air bubble in the system.

As for hunting, manual shift. We;ll need more info form ya to, what tires/gears?
