If only we could get that memo to the people who think just because there's a hitch their truck can tow anything. My first thought when I see something this ridiculous done to a truck is:
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.![]()
According to the SAEJ2807, the Ridgeline can tow up to 5,000 pounds. I think it's good that consumers look at the SAEJ2807 tow ratings, but that doesn't mean it's a great tow vehicle for those maximum loads, especially at highway speeds.Yesterday I saw a friggin Honda Ridgeline towing about a 25-26ft center console with two outboards. There is no way in hell that thing can emergency stop with that much weight behind it.
All of that makes sense and lines up with the "Just because it says you can doesn't mean you should" position most of us subscribe to-- If not for your own safety, then for that of others on the road.According to the SAEJ2807, the Ridgeline can tow up to 5,000 pounds. I call your Dually CJ with a short blade and raise you a dually CJ with a rear PTO and trencher!I know it might be difficult for some of you to believe, but back when Jeeps were made to be work/ utilitarian vehicles.... Not many made, but it was a thing.

I call bullshit; these are all AI generated. I've never - NEVER - seen any Jeep like this parked at the mall.I call your Dually CJ with a short blade and raise you a dually CJ with a rear PTO and trencher!

http://offroadaction.ca/2010/01/21/more-dual-wheel-jeeps/ is the source. If you click through they have all sorts of links to other dually setups. This one is my favorite:

I've seen a few of these little Jeep dually's around here over the years.I know it might be difficult for some of you to believe, but back when Jeeps were made to be work/ utilitarian vehicles.... Not many made, but it was a thing.

You're right. There's a distinct lack of angry grilles and color contrasting accessories. Clearly a deep fake.I call bullshit; these are all AI generated. I've never - NEVER - seen any Jeep like this parked at the mall.
I like everything about the execution of this truck. Would I own/do this? No. But I certainly appreciate how well they did it all. Except the angry grille.I wouldn't do that to a gladiator, but the hard lines to those air tanks are works of art.![]()
Ahhh... how I miss the JC Whitney catalog.JC Whitney used to sell dually wheel kits years ago. You got spacers to mount on the hub, plus inside and outside rims. You could get either 5, 6, or 8 lug set up.
