AEV did a bunch of OEM work for Jeep at one point ... their bumpers ended up on one of the special editions back in the early JK days. They also did a bunch of V8 conversions and sold the full wiring harnesses and kits for the JK.

They've also done work with Chevy ... The Colorado ZR2 Bison is all AEV parts.

I was going to go to "do" a TJ kit but by the time I was in to do it the kits was discontinued.☹ The TJ kit was around $8000.00 and change. Plus the labour, TJ and time. If I had it would be worth 5 times the cost.?

I was going to the same thing. By the time I found a good TJ. They quit making the kit.

Yeah the TJ kits are really nice. Maybe they'll start making them again one of these days, lol. It's a timeless product and they don't have the Brute Doublecab taking up their production space any more....

Not likely, I asked them some years back if it was in the cards to make them again or if they knew of any one left somewhere. I had a few TJ's offered to me cheap before I moved. I'll probably find one somewhere with TJ's being as over priced (if good shape) as a CJ-8 or CJ-6.... No chance in H### of me cutting up my LJ. I even wanted just a bed to make a "TJ based Jeep" trailer without having to fab up a whole bed from scratch.

So I was driving on the freeway this morning 3/1/2022 and quickly noticed this. For you hardcore Jeep historians, what’s the story on the brute models? Is this the 2005 prototype? What’s the specs on this trim vs current JTR?

the 2005 concept was actually a 2dr. Boy I wish they had developed that instead! Similar to the recent J6 concept. Attached is the 2005 concept

Yes that's the Gladiator I wanted, but not going to happen, 4-door pickups with tiny beds is current market niche now. Single or extended cabs trucks would not sell enough to be profitable for any manufacturer.

All I want is for them to sell a dealer-installed kit like they did with the JK8!

The original Brute was a turnkey two-door TJ offered by AEV. Eventually, the company started offering kits, and they were quite popular. Many AEV options were available for the Brute, including the Highline fender kit.

The next version was based on the JK Unlimited Wrangler. It's known as the Brute Double Cab, and was available with the stock 3.6 or a Hemi V8 (except, of course, in California where I live). Like the previous iteration, it could be fitted with bumpers, lifts, wheels, and other options from the AEV catalog.

There was even a version that offered an interior by Filson that came with matching luggage.

AEV has been around for quite a long time. I've had a Power Wagon outfitted with the AEV lift, wheels, tires, and bumper, a Brute, and driven a Brute Double Cab around for awhile. I highly recommend their products.
