I think this is a nice realisitic setup from factory:

  • I-6 Hurricane engine
  • 37" BFG KO2 tires
  • JPP beadlock capable wheel (the one they used to sell)
  • JPP 2.5" Lift
    • Proper track bar and geometry correction brackets
    • Adjustable remote reservoir shocks (adjustable might be a stretch)
  • JPP Fender Flare Extensions
  • JPP Rock Rails (these are not the standard Rubicon rails)
  • New standard 2024 interior
  • Dana/Spicer 4.88 gear set
What do you think?

Has it ever been definitively said whether or not the I6 Hurricane will fit the current engine bay?

1.V8 with minimum 325hp 300 ftIbs of torque.
2.Softer seats that go back further.
3. More lift this truck should be 2.5-3" taller from factory.
4. Engine must run cooler slightly higher idle.
5. Slotted brakes
6. Bed shorter to fix the hitch dragging on everything.
Get rid of the FAD that just sucks.
7. Weather tech floor mats . Keeping the mud out of these things is a full time job.
8.Better shocks that are adjustable.
9. Almost forgot the seatbelts constantly tighten .. they need comfort stop latches .

Assuming a Rubicon trim designed for wheeling

Fully boxed/thicker/stronger frame
factory coilovers
factory 4-link front and rear with proper geometry
37" Toyo or Nitto XTs.
60's front and rear, 4.56 gears and selectable lockers
straight 5 or 6cyl diesel
frame-mounted rock sliders/steps
tailgate body armor/sliders
Steel bumpers with adequate recovery points front and rear
Warn series winch up front.
Rock lights
ditch lights
12v accessory panels/wiring at the front and in the bed

Then again if all this came from the factory, the same typical Rubcon owner would buy it and never wheel it, and the true enthusiasts would still make it their own, just with less hard modifications, so what's the point. This jeep would be priced $100K easily, the enthusiasts that would actually wheel it would pay a shop $100K to build one similar.

I'm all for Jeep catering to the 4x4 community, but other than the boxed frame and engine options, most "hard-core" jeep guys are capable of taking care of everything else on the list if that's what the eventually want, and likely could provide it cheaper than what Jeep would provide it for.

Now if Jeep would sell a "Stripped down" chassis for cheap catered to the builder that would be awesome. Include frame/body/engine/transmission/4.1 tcase/dash/radio and let the builder spend money on axles, suspension, wheels/tires/seats/bumpers/recovery/ect... that would be sweet.

Gladiator with a Cummins diesel engine and manual transmission option with it. I will gladly pay $7K-8K extra.

It has not, which is why I think they did such a soft redesign for 2024, if you look, all the changes done can easily be incorporated into a completely new design, if they needed to make more room.

Your build is pretty close for me.

While interested in the I6, not enough facts out there yet, atleast for me. So I'd go with a tuned EcoDiesel (w/fixed HPFP). Swap BFGs for Falkens. No geo brackets, use adjustable control arms. Last I'd want 4.27 instead of 4.88.

But hey, who's being picky.

(edit)
I'd love a 6'4" bed with an extra cab just big enough for our dog and a smaller cooler.
We've got the Wrangler for when we need more interior space.

The V-6 Cummins compacted graphite iron block that was in the Nissan XD is what they should have used in the Gladiator for a diesel not that junk they used. What is it Vihant moratori or some such weirdo name.

I hear ya, I've tossed out the longer bed version before.
