Right! It might not hurt you too much if you only keep your new 4XE for 3-4 years and then trade it in for a new one before the batteries become an issue, but man... that upcoming ~$13-15k new battery expense is REALLY gonna put a damper on the sale or trade-in value of your 10-12 year old Jeep.

Luis
In 12 years all these cars will be about 10k and any major malfunction will basically send them to the scrap heap or an engine swap.

It's also crazy to think that the current dealer price of a battery replacement is what it will always be at. Other phevs all come down to around 2k for a reman, so in 10-12 years you spend 2-3k most likely for a reman and get another 10-12+ years out of it. That's assuming you even care about the range and aren't just buying it for the v8 power.

Mine is still rather two tone - gray and what they call black that isn't really black (black is my car's interior!)

I really like the interior colors of our Overlands.

Hardly black, but whatever they want to call it.

Dig deep into non-typical type articles, more science and tech, and you won't be crazy because that's already happening - replacement costs dropping, thanks to Tesla, recycling, and new tech. There's already companies replacing batteries with decent stuff for a fraction of the price, especially if you are mainly in it for the hybrid bits - like you said.
Heck, in 5 years, we'll be laughing at the prices we see now for batteries.

I am offering 4 percent under invoice on mostly everything including the 24 Gladiators with tread lightly or other affiliates rewards.. plus tax, license and 85 doc fee.. no other adds or accessories. Call me for specific pricing though on Wrangler 392's or any of the Charger/Challengers. All of my Ram Trucks except TRX are at 4 percent below invoice with affiliates rewards such as treadlightly membership or employer sponsored affiliates.

I do still have some 23 Gladiators left as well that may offer the old priced units at substantial savings depending on final rebates and dealer discounts.

You can reach me at [email protected] or [email protected]
Too bad CA is so very far away........... and no one in Iowa does this sort of thing for Jeeps. It's just how things are here.
It's worse than pulling teeth to get a dealer here to even talk affiliates - like they lose many thousands of dollars on every deal. Mention it and they scowl and give a no, sorry, we can't do that.
Sucks. We're stuck with corporate entities, all MSRP or walk type of deals. You pay the sticker or leave. I was lucky twice - forced the issue told 'em I'd walk after my order came in, the other - I got them talked into the 1% affiliate program - barely, it took a corporate meeting in that dealership to get it approved for me.

It's the same in Montana. I even called some places in ID and WA to check cause I felt taken advantage of. I'll never forget the worthless bag I want to drive to just to punch in the face in Walla Walla who said "your lucky at that price, just take what is given to you and enjoy it". Man....I don't dare say here what the dark side of me wants to do. The sad reality is people like that and attitudes like that are becoming more and more common. The "all about me' mentality, is really toxic and makes a country crumble. It takes teamwork for things to be nice and smooth and cushy. But, there are still a few good pockets of places out there for a few more years anyway.

Bloomberg article says Jeep "will lower prices and add models and features to its lineup this year as it seeks to regain market share lost to squeezed consumers and stiffer competition in its core US market."

hmm, sounds very vague. Both in timeframe and scope.

But it does go on to say "It is cutting prices on its Jeep truck, the Gladiator, by an average of $1,700."
How about $17,000? Yeah.... that sounds better

I found a couple of interior pictures that show the headlight switch area. Am I missing something? Both of my Overlands had two dimmers - the right is the cluster dimmer (and will turn on interior courtesy lights) while the left dial or the one in the middle handles the dimming for the ambient/courtesy lighting like footwell, and so on. I've never touched it because frankly, I never really notice interior lights there.

So both of mine have had that center dial for dimming those down there lights.
But that's missing on 2024 - or is it ONLY missing on Mojave? IS that a "Mojave feature" to not have that dimmer?
How are those lights controlled without that dial?

This is from the book - I think one of you may be familiar with that term and what it is.......

This is how both of my JTs looked - 2020 and 2022 -

This is 2024 - how do you dim or manage interior lighting??

They got rid of the ambient light dimmer wheel starting with the 2023 model year.

Exactly. It's like a store that has a markup of 200% and then advertise a sale of 50% off and people lose their minds. "What a deal, OMG they must be losing money".

Let's remember Stellantis had record profits folks.

Let's also remember that each entity has to operate semi-independently. If Ram trucks pull in huge profits but Jeep flounders, one can't cover for the other in some things.
Fiat might thrive, while another section is on the edge of failing.
It's like GM - Olds, Buick, Pontiac, Chevrolet, Holden, Saturn,, and too many others to list them all - some are here, some are not. Sure, GM is alive and well, but............ the children that can't produce get axed.
Doesn't matter about Stellantis as a whole - they probably have other holdings that are doing very well.......... if their left hand is infected, they'll cut it off.

I really should have thought - looked at pics of 23s, and then not be surprised.
Thinking back to 2020 and all of the "what's this dial for" or "my dial isn't working like the book says" and similar comments or questions. It was sort of a forgotten thing and I bet a fair share of Jeep owners either never used it or never figured out what it was for.

I'm in the "I never used it, never saw a need for it" group.

I think the green on the dash and door panels (yeah, there, too - armrest areas) is what kills it for me.
I don't like the green seats but at least with a couple of people in it, you'd not see the seats except getting in and out. I don't view it as either a luxury or Mojave thing - it's weird and just doesn't go with the theme of otherwise decent looking trucks.
My personal opinion, the green leather just doesn’t go with a lot of the color options. If they want to do the dash sure go for it. I kinda like it and well the Rubi has had a red dash for years.

But the green leather seats can be pretty darn bad on some color options.

Like these….
high velocity yellow and green leather - mucinex edition
Firecracker Red and green leather - merry Christmas

I’m happy with mine but only because I got it in sarge.

I hated the red dash on the Rubicon when I was still shopping around. But then I found out that when it has the tan leather instead of black, then it came with the graphite dash. So that's what I got.

Agreed, I just couldn’t get myself to like the red dash.

Unfortunately for the Mojave X’s there is no other leather option that would “black out” the dash and leather.
