V8s "shake" when you want them to...they don't inherently shake. They can, they don't have to. The idea of "balance" is important for longevity and bearing wear....but none of them are better or worse really. Do you think Top Fuel or F1 or Nascar gives a shit about V8s having balance issues? LOL. Please. They don't care because it's not really a problem.

I want another diesel, which should be possible as EPA stuff starts getting rolled back.

...except a reliable diesel this time.
Not happening. All post 2007.5 diesels are overengineered, expensive pieces of crap. Sure, the performance is good at times, but $20,000 for a fuel system repair is bananas. Who wants to fund that out of warranty? Furthermore, how they were ever allowed to engineer a "see dealer immediately, vehicle limited to 5 mph in X miles" derate into a passenger vehicle is beyond me.

I'm not sold yet on reliability of anything turbo.
Is this in general, or only related to Jeeps with turbos?

Because turbos in general have been proven reliable and safe for decades. Turbos rarely fail and they don't harm engines. People do.

I come here almost every day and click the "New Posts" button just to see if there's any new news on a V8 in the Gladiator. A V8 would make my Gladiator perfection to me. An "affordable" V8 options would have me standing in line to order a new one at the first opportunity. A 392 Gladiator would have me looking for one on the used market 3 years after they were introduced.

I love how OP intentionally omitted the very engine everyone here is now talking about - Turbo I6.

Great poll!
Turb I6 doesn't fit, is overly complex, and barely makes more power than the NA 5.7L. And it gets the same fuel economy. Just because people are talking about it doesn't make it the best option.

Sometimes things seem cool on paper or in beer fueled conversations, but in reality they're shit. The Viper's V10 being one of them. OMG FUCK YEAH A V10! Those pieces of shit barely made 1 hp/cu in by the end of their run. They sounded fucking awful too.

The only reason i didn't select all electric or hybrid is that I do NOT trust Stellantis to produce either variant at a reasonable price point.

As much as I personally only care about a 5.7 mated to a manual transmission for myself, i would absolutely love to see the platform gain options for others buyers. But i think we all know an EVJT starting at 80k would be an absolute lot turd, and frankly adding another slow-selling option to the JT lineup would probably just be another nail in a coffin that's i'm assuming is mostly built at this point.

I mean... we all saw the announcement that the JT was going 4xe by MY2025 amount to nothing. The writing is on the wall that Stellantis and Jeep don't have a lot of faith in the profitability of adding to the JT line.

While I admire the cool tech factor of an ALL electric vehicle, until they can charge themselves, I don't understand why anyone would want a vehicle that needs 4 hours to fully charge? Imagine trying to charge an EV out in the woods? And If you never plan on leaving civilization, why even have a Jeep?

I did that poll already. This poll is more of a gauge in interest on new alternative powerplants vs. older tech. It's good to remind people and corporate America what the demographic is.
