Early last month the CEL came on and the dealer read misfires on my 22 JTR. Two days later UPS delivered a Vgate iCar Pro BLE adapter and one of the forum recommended bypass cables for use with Jscan. After seeing how hard it was to get at the gateway connections, I also bought a Zautomotive extension cable. For the first couple of weeks, I used the adapter connected to the factory OBD port. No issues at all that way and was able to view and save the misfires without problem. When the extension cables came in last week, I lost a little skin but got them plugged in and started using the Bluetooth adapter connected to the bypass cable. As it is now, “Not Supported” errors flash briefly and randomly across different cylinders. Jscan continues to show misfires when it goes back to normal after a second or two. Attached is a screenshot of one of my records with the error shown.

My first thought was that the bypass cable was bad which was easy to check. Still using the extension cables, I reconnected the factory OBD port and put the adapter back in. No errors at all and worked great showing misfires. At that point I ordered a second bypass from a different Amazon supplier. That came in today but when hooked up, I’m back to seeing the random Not Supported flashes. Using the extension cables and either bypass cable, Jscan allows me to make changes like turning hood alarm on or off and setting the fog lights to work with high beams. To me that seems to show both bypass cables work as they should.

Just curious if anyone has seen this before and found a solution? Even with the flashing, Jscan still shows the misfires so it isn’t a huge problem but just enough that I’d like to fix it.

Update to the “Not Supported” errors . The problem turned out to be the Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth 4.0 BLE adapter. Got hold of a OBDLink MX+ today and it works great. Flashing errors are gone and Jscan works perfectly.
