Here is a video that I found to be very helpful. Only two minutes long...plug shows up around 1:40. I ended up leaving the plug in place, drilled a small hole, fed the wire through and then sealed up with rtv silicone sealant.

Pro tip - drill a little larger hole than you think you'll need - for later 😉

The rears work like normal with car on. No auto up/down. Fronts only work with key fob. If I go down with key fob then go back up, nothing happens for a bit then the fronts go up. Like they waited for rears to go up first. But rears don’t go up or down.

Drivers rear only works with the fob when you lock-unlock-lock for the window crack. Won’t go bak up though when I hit the double lock

It's all working now. Re-checked all the connections and still weren't working. Put everything back together and figured I'd give them a call Monday.

Go to start the Jeep and it won't start. Says no key. Then says touch Fob to Start button. Try it and nothing. Now I'm thinking I'm going to have to pull everything apart. Try the Fob to the Start again, success. Turn the Jeep off and turn on again by pushing the button, everything back to normal.

Give the rear windows a try, one touch down, one touch up. Turn the Jeep off, try the Fob, everything is suddenly working.

Not sure what happened but assuming it had something to do with the Fob to the Start button thing. Just an FYI in case anyone else runs into the same issue.

That happened to me with the touch fob to start button, had me wondering, never did it again after. But anyways glad it works now

Just a heads-up... I have the aux switch group and tried using the battery wire that is included at the passenger foot board and the unit generally worked until I used the remote to simultaneously close 4 windows ... this repeatably blew the 10a fuse for this circuit ... for those not wanting to go through the firewall, here is an alternative that turns the lighter from acc to battery and then taps that (I just placed my order so I haven't installed it yet

https://www.cooltechllc.com/wrangler-parts-accessories/111-jl-powerport-kit.html

and then use
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087T2W99F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_Z.BZFb38KKVH1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
To tap into the lighter

I found this when looking at what people have done to power their cb radios ... and this changes the lighter to always on which I have been wanting anyway

nice write up. looks like a pretty handy add-on.

this is probably a stupid thing to ask but wondering if would be possible for the programmer guys (tazer, ecri, etc....) to just program this feature somehow? fyi, i'm not an electrical or computer programing/engineering type so don't lambast me too badly.

This was checked, and Tazer said they couldn’t do it.

Yes if you do have the factory AUX switches then you could tap into the RED wire with WHITE stripe.
I tried that location first but kept blowing the 10amp fuse because I was trying to run the window module and my dashcam off the same circuit.

I just did the same thing, and was blowing the 10A fuse too. Even blew the 15A. The 20A seems ok. same as the inline fuse that come with this device. I am not condoning changing fuses if you do not know what you are doing.

Sorry if it was mentioned already I skimmed but didn’t see. For those with little ones that ride with them, I found out that if the child lock is on it will disable the auto up and down in the rear windows. Turning it back off will enable it again.

How long did the install take you guys? This fixes one of my 2 major pet peeves on my JLU, no auto up windows.

Now if only I can figure out how to toggle up and down thru preset radio stations.

Less than an hour, but I've been in that part of the dash several times already 😁

Spent more time prepping and watching the video than actual install, probably took 15 minutes to rip apart the dash, swap in the wiring harness, route the wires over to drivers side, plug in module and button back up... Spent another 20 isolating the wires for splice, used the quick taps like in the video and took power from my RSE steps ( power for them already routed thru firewall making this easier than the video for power). All in under an hour....
