Picked up this the other day:
Gulfstream 197bh
Sticker says 4200lbs dry. Website says 3663. Outside of the hoses and other rv junk it was just the wife and I so I would guess we were 4500ish.
We took our maiden trip from Vegas to Sedona about 200 miles.
1st leg was uneventful. JTR pulled (and stopped) just fine. Power was there (except on big hills). 8ish mpg.
On the agenda anyway was hitting Schnebly Hill (badge of honor trail). Bonus was that the entrance was like a mile from the rv park so we ran it West to East.
Ride home was more uphill and the hills were legit. Times where momentum was limited yielded some top speeds of 55 up a couple of hills. Mpg was in the 7ās. The spot right after the NV state line rolling into Boulder City was the worst. I hope that road designer was promoted to customer because every trailer and semi was at 50 max due to the grade.
Overall, looking forward to the next trip. WDH did its job. Furrion side and backup cameras gave extra peace of mind.
Oh.. just want to thank all the people here who posted something about towing that I read at great length. I was super worried I was buying too much weight and Iād regret single versus double axel but all was good.
Based on all the weight discussion, cargo capacity and blah blah other very important numbersā¦.I did get paranoid about the weight of my Rebel half rack being in the equationā¦.so if you didnāt notice, I removed it and will be placing up for sale here soon (rack/table mount/table/access tonneau cover)ā¦.
