$5,500 for that???? Please tell me you are not paying that.... This is 'warranty' correct?
Unfortunately, ever since the 2010'ish era - they have all become throwaway cars. It's sad. So much emphasis is put into design/engineering and very little if any support given to dealerships to properly train technicians. Then terrible economics on top of that. It's really no surprise. And part of the reason I picked up an old LJ. Push comes to shove, I will let the gladiator go way before the TJ or LJ just because of the simplicity and reliability factor. That and, nobody seems to be able to work on vehicles anymore. They are just too complicated, and too crammed. I guess a person has to make a decision early on before spending any aftermarket monies on something - either plan to keep it for a long time knowing things are going to go bad at your expense, or do nothing more than stock, and either tow a trailer or tent it like the 80's. The sad thing is so many dealers, and Jeep, are finding ways to deny warranties that should be valid, and much of that happens after a person dumps so much money into their vehicle to suit their wants/needs, the a person is basically stuck. Either let it go and loose that tens of thousands of bucks, or be lame and have nothing more than a stock truck which kinda defeats the purpose of the whole thing in the first place. What a shame cause there are still some fantastic dealers and shops out there. The bad ones make them all look bad though.
I feel like these days, and in the coming years, it will be more and more often that businesses prove themselves to be unreliable and more and more often that people will have to do things themselves to do it right. Sadly.
That's true in virtually every industry, whether it be plumbing, or electrical, they are almost all doing sub par work.
I have become a fairly competent plumber and home electrician simply because there was no other option.
