I swapped the 3.5s with Kicker DSC350 and the sound bar 4s with KSC40.

The tweeters are bright, almost too bright. Dialing back the treble 1-2 bars makes it just about right.

The 4 inch came with a 3 screw mounting plate.

I used the metra connectors for the 4in and the red wolf for the 3.5s. I didn’t have to swap pos/neg, red wolf wires it correctly.

Took about 20 minutes and sounds much better. Not too shabby for relatively inexpensive speakers.

Can you provide links or part numbers for the Metra and Red Wolf adapters used? Also, have you replaced the dash speakers yet or only the soundbar?

I actually did the dash speakers first. I ran it that way for a day to see how it impacted the sound stage ( laughable to say that in a jeep). It was a good improvement. You can actually hear them compared to stock. The tweeters seemed really bright at first, serious treble rebel. I kinda worried it was gonna be worse when I did the sound bar. To my surprise though it didn't. The highs from the sound bar are cleaner and more crisp with out being bright. It helped even out the front too so its not so bad.

I just need more low end now.

Nice..I am looking to do the same and adding a powered sub as well. So did it change the volume level? Can you actually turn it up past 25 with a noticeable increase in volume?

Yep. The 4 ohm change helped a little there. They come on a little louder at lower volumes.

I was cruising around with the windows down around 24-25. Have cranked it to 30 with no sound deterioration or issue.

Some of the tunes I used were:

Slipknot
Blues traveller
Eazy E
Blacked eyed Peas
Y2k County ( my chick)
Deftones

as a note, we had cranked the stock system to 34-35 on a road trip a couple weekends back.

it didn’t sound horrible but it was obvious most of the volume wasn’t from the dash.

I’m debating if i want to mess with the knee panel. I may swap them too. I’m hemming and hawing on it. to do that much tear down i may as well swap to 6.5s. i’m just trying to avoid running amps.

Did you use polyfill behind the dash speakers? I found it cut down on the speaker brightness and improved the left right separation.

I put the infinity in the dash and forgot the polyfill. Think I am going to take it out and add some.

Seeing that the kickers fit is tempting. I was debating on what to try there. Was thinking about trying to add more infinitys or try to make some JL Audios fit.

Not so much that I need too... More like I want something else to do (and I am not feeling hacking the sound bar up). LOL.

Just to confirm ... no trimming required to install the 4" Kicker KSC40 speakers, correct? I had read a while back where someone said they needed to trim the plastic 'cup' of the soundbar for clearance.

I have already done the Infinity 3.5s in both the dash and soundbar. The KSC40s are next on my list.

i didn’t need to. the kicker logo on the mounting ring goes towards the back seat. it’s a tad wider and won’t fit flush on the other holes.
