Hi,

I am looking to upgrade my knee panel speakers in my 2022 Jeep Gladiator Sport with the uconnect 7 in radio. From what I gathered there are 6 3/4 inch speakers in the dash but also seen possible 4in speakers. I know this is quite a big project but Any suggestions on some nice speakers to replace these garbage oem ones would be appreciated. I don’t plan to put an amp on it and just would like to find something a bit better sounding. I did upgrade the 3 1/2in speakers in the dash. I posted a link in this thread and if you haven’t upgraded those dash speakers yet I highly recommend them. Thanks for any input.

The stockers are 4", but if you are going to upgrade it only makes sense to get the 6.5/6.75" adapters. Same goes for the sound bar

I used the Metra housings, which can take 6" to 6.75" speakers. I went with Alpine speakers, but there are so many more options. I'm very happy with my setup. I did learn after the installation that two way speakers for the knee panels are useless, at least for my "premium" sound system. The factory amplifier does not send high frequencies to those speakers, just mids/lows. I lined the inside of the Metra housing with sound deadening material and stuffed it with poly fill.

I installed the MB Court stage 6 upgrade and two amplifiers was quite the chore took a little bit of time just some patience and being careful not to break anything sounds great now

Thanks for all the advice and input. I did end up buying the 6.5in MB Quarts. Not looking forward to pulling dash apart but will update when completed.

The knee speakers were the worst upgrade in the entire sound system for me. Almost no noticeable difference. Dash speakers for some actual highs was the biggest difference. If I had to do the knee speakers again, I wouldn’t.

Did this last weekend. Ex installer (20 yrs ago) Surprised by how much had to be taken apart to get to the speakers.
the Trail Seven YT video was a huge help and I referenced it often. Took about 3 beers. Take your time and don’t rush.
I used it as an opportunity to clean hard to reach places.
i remember thinking GM used way too many fasteners.…
I ”think” I hear a difference with a little more mid but who knows. I did it because I received the whole kit as a gift and the knees were the last pieces. I simply got tired of moving them around in the garage.

I finally got around to installing knee panel speakers. Over all it sounds a bit snappier in the mid range bass and took less than 2 hours. Took my time with it and over all smooth just tedious work.

i agree there was little to no difference until I added a amp to them. Definitely hear an improvement. The problem is the oem radio only puts out like 5 watts per speaker. These upgraded speakers require more power inorder to hear a difference.
