Apparently and unfortunately so. Based on that logic, I and everyone else with this issue should immediately go demand a loaner, which I definitely would have already if I had been told it was not safely "driveable". However, I was told there was no real risk of further damage still driving it and I have not noticed an appreciable change in the leak rate or driving characteristics.

Not to mention that I don't really want any other vehicle for an extended period of time, my dealership doesn't have any Diesel Gladiators with a soft top sitting around and even if they did mine is now set up almost exactly how I want it.
Mine is not drivable, I got a loaner which was a compass, had to wait 4 days for this thing. Still was given no ETA on repair

Was there anything else wrong with yours? I have a right rear wheel full of grease that looks nearly the same as what you shared that I have been driving on for around 6 weeks now. Just wondering what is the trigger point between "driveable" and not? Since there is no TSB (at least I haven't seen one posted here) not sure how different dealerships could consistently make that determination.

Expect 3-4 weeks after order.
I have been waiting 6 weeks already (some others have waited even longer) and was just told I have at least another 3 weeks to go, but the dealership parts people didn't have much faith in that eta due to the order and supply situation. So based on my experience, 3-4 weeks from order is not accurate.

Incase any of you need a good laugh...... the "Jeep Cares" rep working with me on my open case calls me every few days to tell me:

1. Well it looks like we still don't have an ETA on the part
2. We are not aware of this affecting a lot of people
3. There is still no TSB for this.

For those that have not read the entire thread.....I am waiting for the axle shaft assembly so they can repair it a SECOND time. 4500 miles on mine at the moment, built in early February 2021.

Nope, that was all. They said the only way they would feel comfortable with me driving it is if I brought it in about every 5 days to top it off.

It is laughable at this point not to have a TSB or acknowledge that this is a growing problem. The past 3 weeks when I have called to check status, the backorder number has grown by around 50 each week. Not to mention the poll sample on another thread here suggests that around 20% of 2021 units built earlier this year have the issue. Certainly there could be some bias in the sample since many people go to car forums to bitch about problems, but I would argue that effect should be largely offset by all the modding enthusiasts active on this site; I think people (myself included) mostly come here to share Jeep product/lifestyle knowledge and get ideas for mods. We aren't talking about a population of minivan owners who mostly don't do anything with their vehicles but drive from point A to B.

I was three weeks and saw several people in the thread with around that time frame....so expect longer than two weeks work?

Thanks, probably will need to check the level on mine.

Hey there buddy I put mud guards on my Honda Odyessy ? Problem is that I don't think Jeep Cares has any connection to the Quality Department for FCA. They can basically look at inside sales service part orders from dealerships to FCA. Inside Sales has no communication with Warranty/Quality. Dealership techs have a better chance of getting that kind of information.

@JeepCares I sent a PM over about the same thing yesterday. It is BS if these orders aren't getting addressed in the sequence which they are received. I'm fine with having to wait my turn and others who had their orders in before me should get priority before mine. Any other way is far too subjective to be fair.
Yep, I see your message now. I will follow up there shortly.

Sure, just sharing my experience as well. Apparently there is some way to get priority which I and others missed out on. Again, I am not complaining about waiting or knocking anyone who got their parts already, if I got a call tomorrow I would go get my Glad fixed immediately without question. Just wish the response from Jeep on this issue was a little more timely and transparent.

If I was to guess, they are allocating their parts in quantity by distribution region and then racking and stacking priority for within each region. That seem to be what they did with the steering gearbox TSB and would explain while some people is some parts of the country get theirs first regardless of others elsewhere being earlier.

This is assuming if your dealer actually is not lying to you and ordered promptly and not blaming corporate for being lazy.

Mine started leaking at 200 miles. 2021 Mojave. Replacement at just over 1k miles. Have several hundred miles on replacement and zero leaks. Dealer had put my axle shaft replacement in “red” status ….whatever that means. As soon as dealer ordered I filed a Jeep Cares case. Showed up about 2.5 weeks later. I drove mine while waiting. Fingers crossed replacement works. If not…they’ll fix it. Life’s too short…I’ll enjoy the ride.
